Stop the Epipen Price Gouging

Messages Sent So Far
We ask that there be an investigation and regulation into the 420% (adjusted for inflation!) increase in the price of Epipens since 2004.

Millions of people with severe allergies carry EpiPens to reverse life-threatening allergic reactions.

With this oppressive price increase, many EMT's and families are turning to manual syringes as a cheaper alternative, though doctors and patient advocates warn that it?s more complicated to get the correct dose of epinephrine and it administer safely with a syringe. Some families will be forced to hang on to expired Epipens, or worse, go without entirely.

There is no discernible reason for the increase other than Mylan's desire to use their monopoly to exploit the need for this life-saving medication for exorbitant profit.

Thank you.

Read this article, and then start making nooses, one for each member of the Manchin family: https://www.rt.com/usa/360084-epipen-medicare-medicaid-scam/ "Mylan has been highly scrutinized after increasing the price of its medical devices that fight life-threatening allergic reactions by 400 percent this year. The pharmaceutical company is now facing an enforcement action after not cooperating with the West Virginia attorney general?s subpoena issued last month, CNBC reported. Heather Bresch is the CEO of Mylan and is reportedly very well connected. The daughter of a former West Virginia governor and current US Senator Joe Manchin (D) is facing accusations that she used her mother Gayle?s position on the National Association of State Boards of Education to boost her company?s earnings. Gayle Manchin must have seemed to be very passionate about allergies when she was at the forefront of a movement to require schools to purchase EpiPens in 2012. Eleven states wrote laws requiring the powerful allergies-reversing medicine, and almost all of the remaining states strongly encouraged schools to keep epinephrine auto-injectors on hand in case of an emergency. The rapid interest in allergic reactions went all the way to the White House, where in 2013, President Barack Obama signed the EpiPen Law that gave preferential funding to states that encouraged EpiPens. Meanwhile, the cost of EpiPens was increasing. In 2007, two EpiPens, the common dosage for a year, cost $100. It is around this time that EpiPen prices began increasing by 30 percent each year, according to Fortune. By the time 2012 rolled around, they were over $200 for a two-pack."

I have 2 children with life threatening nut allergies. We have been carrying Epi Pens with us everywhere since 2007. The price of Epi pens is ridiculous.

This is to save the lives of those who cannot help their condition! Including children! The common sense here would be to clearly make this medicine free, if not 100% affordable to everybody!

Almost half of the margins in 2015 came from epipen sales. Mylan and Bresch need to face consequences. I use 1-2 a year...it has become absurd with the price and profits. it is a challenge to need a life saving drug when your heart rate drops to 20bpm and insurance barely covers getting any of them in a year now. No one has mentioned that they expire less than 12 mos from when you actually get them from a pharmacy. 600 dollars and expires in May 2017 for the pack i just picked up 2 weeks ago. USDA needs to allow alternates...this is not a new drug 50 yrs , no reason we are at the mercy of Mylan.

Please help lower the cost doe epipens!!! The current price is outrageous. Mylan executives are extremely greedy. This has to stop! What kind of company chooses to make themselves richer over actually helping kids and adults get the medicine they need for allergic reactions?
