Marin county courts are the worst offenders of this. My friend's kids have been given custody to the father who is abusive. A suspicion of child abuse report was filed against the father by the supervised visitation supervisor and the judge denied the investigation and fired the supervisor. what can the mother do the father is an investment banker and she is Brazilian with no family to help her and he has financially ruined her. judge refuses to grant her a Portuguese interpreter. her civil rights are being violated. who can she call for help?

Yeah this is sad I I know someone that is going there this exact thing right now they took her kids because he called cps gave them to him then the cps worker filed against him for child abuse then the judge dismissed all the charges let him keep custody and fired the cps worker because they said it was inappropriate that she informed the mother it's so sad and exactly what this petition is talking about so I know this is a real problem

We have had guardianship of our grandchildren for 3 years due to both parents having felony child abuse charges. They neglected health care for sick child with ulcerative colitis until he was in critical condition and needed blood transfusions to recover. Family court is now in the process of giving children back to father despite these charges and a history of alcohol and drug abuse. Restraining orders have been lifted and overnight visitation have begun. The court won't listen to advice of counselors that children are indeed in distress, nor the fact that he has a felony child abuse charge, or the children themselves. They instead have turned on us and our character and intentions have been questioned and we have been judged unfairly. We asked for an adlitem to be assigned to our case, thinking she would evaluate the case and speak to all authorities involved..policemen, doctors, school officials , cps, etc. but she has not. She consistently ignores reports of him putting his kids in danger, not feeding them and says we are overprotective and that children don't always tell the truth. We are heartbroken and so disillusioned with the Indiana Family Court system. He even has a history of domestic abuse that has been well documented and showed up once in family court drunk. This is outrageous and something must be done to change the present legal system of abandoning these precious innocent victims.

No child should have to feel pain to learn right from wrong. There are other methods of teaching the child without using physical violence.

I support protecting children from abuse. No child should ever have to deal with abuse. When it does happen and they tell, they should be protected from the abuser. The child's right to a safe environment should always come before the rights of a parent that abuses them.

Too many of my friends have children who have endured years of sexual abuse at the hands of their own father. The court did not believe them... Age 3. Age 8... Age 12. They were forced to continue visitation by the court that should have jailed theirs fathers and protected them instead the abuse continued, as if also court ordered. This is wrong on so many levels. Please stop the abuse. Reform the law. I stand for change. I demand it! For your children and mine. Not one more!!!

I am dealing with the same thing in Michigan. They want to send my Son with his abusive father who laughed in my face after the courts gave him back his parenting time...Unsupervised! Even though we are in the middle of a police case and he was charged by CPS. My son had multiple contusions, a tennis ball sized contusion on his forehead and chest wall bruises, bruises on his back, a cut on inside his lip, a cut on his eye, and bruising to his genitals. My son went through torture and had rope burns around his mouth and scratches on various place on his body, and his leg was hurt to the point where he couldn?t even walk upstairs. Now the judge wants me to send him back to his abusive father, unsupervised, on saturday or I'll be held in contempt of court and lose custody. No one will help me. The prosecutor says he can't do anything. The CPS worker won't do anything. The news channel won't help me. Why has the world forsaken my child?

I am personally dealing with this now. A judge even determined there was abuse but dissolved the restraining order. My 9 month old son is being forced to go to unsupervised visitation.

If they have been abused by him why in the hell did the court allow him to take them back. That is why so many kids are abused murdered raped and so on because the courts allow it to go on.

Judges need to look at hard evidence and take time to see how the kids are being affected. Often times it's the parent trying to do good having to do all the worrying for the kids and all the counseling and the redirecting the kids in the right direction. Children suffer emotionally, mentally and sadly physically due to bad decisions made by judges and minors counsel. If children are the future then give them a chance at normalcy and make the bad parent be held accountable. Be fair to the kids not punish them for the bad parents behavior.

The problem is they are NOT looking at all the evidence! I had almost full custody of my kids until minors court got involved. It was all about money for my ex and he was not only awarded every single weekend but overnights in which my kids had never spent the night. He does not follow court orders and always gets a slap on the wrist. I do everything with my kids ( Doctor appts, counseling, activities, school work) but have no quality time with them on weekends. Worst of all he is bipolar, narcissistic and a sociopath and my son who suffers tourettes comes home stressed out each weekend. My daughter is scared and cries every weekend and they are both petrified of him. He has a history of steroid use and back handed my son in the face yet got awarded more time. The judge and minors court overlooked all the evidence and it broke mine and the kids hearts. They suffer for what the court Has decided. We need judges to look at facts and proof. I want to advocate and get this petition out to everyone I can even if this means spending my free time at the court houses passing this petition out. We deserve justice. Not judges who don't give a rip about our children.

A protective parent should not have their duty to protect their children, and the or attempts to do so, held against them. Courts should always err on the side of caution. Judges should not be allowed to make prejudicial judgements about the protective parent without having first seen and heard all the evidence.

We have been fighting the court system and DHS for over 2 years after it has been proven by our local children's sexual abuse trauma team that all 3 of the children, now ages 5, 4 and 3, have been sexually molested by an "unknown" offender. (The youngest no longer has a hymen). The children named their biological father as the offender. They have all been consistent with their allegations, their stories have not changed. The father was given unsupervised visitation of the children due to "parental alienation" by the mother AND while in his care he re-offended! When the offenses were reported to the proper authorities the children were taken from the mother home, she was unable to take them to be checked out by medical professionals and the children were given to the father where he was also given full custody and the mother was only allowed to see the children once a week in a supervised facility. From the beginning this case was not treated as a criminal case but was tried in civil court. We have so much proof the children have been and are still being harmed and no one is listening! We need help! I have sought help from our governor from "advocates" and no one is helping. The GAL for the children even wrote a letter stating that he submitted false reports to the court supporting the father. How do you fight?

Going through this with my ex's wife. She is emotionally abusing our oldest and there is nothing I am legally able to do since I can lose custody for refusing his visitation.
