It is unnecessary and robbery to include BAH in child support. That BAH is money to live and all of it goes into the rent and bills. They should not include that in child support seeing as BAH is non taxable money and not income.Aug 17th, 2015Someone from Yorktown, VA signed.

Holiluyah!!! So glad I found this petition!!! My family is living through this torture right now. We struggle month to month just to pay our basic bills, while my husbands Ex doesn't work, and collects 20% of his pay check. It doesn't cost that much to provided for 1 child! If his gross pay was only calculated on his base pay for child support, our family would be able to catch up, and his Ex would get child support cut in half. Which is still more then she really needs. I'll pray that one day this petition goes through!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I believe that it is time to stop making the children a burden. It took two to create the child and it should take two to care for it. I do not believe in child support. Who ever fights to take the child should care for the child. IF there is any request for funds it should be put into an education fund or an IRA for the child. It should not go to the other parent. You decided to do this, you man/woman up and do what its right. EQUALITY!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

How do you include money when some people never see it? Ridiculous you can take non taxable money and give it other households when yours isn't secure.REPORT COMMENTS

This has to happen. It is hard to support myself in a city that is outrageously high in rent. I can barely afford a 2 bed room apartment for my 4 kids and myself.REPORT COMMENTS

Service members only truly see their base pay, it's not fair to calculate in an amount that they don't get to take home but are expected to pay out.REPORT COMMENTS

when the judge calculated my child support. she factored in BAS and BAH. I told her that it was a non taxable income and when I tried to show her the paperwork that stated when calculating child support for military members BAS, BAH, COLA, etc. should not be part of the equation she told me that she didn't need to see any of that and continued to factor everything into my child support paymentREPORT COMMENTS

Calculating BAH and BAS, combat pay, hazardous duty pay, etc should not be included in child support. As stated above BAH is given to a military member to adjust for the cost of living. To take the allowances that are used to ensure that military members are able to adequately afford to live in an area and give it to a custodial parent causes an undue hardship. Additionally including combat, hazardous and other combat related pay is disrespectful and harsh. Military member receive those allowances because they are in a combat zone overseas and at any moment could lose their lives. How are custodial parents who are not suffering in war tore countries or being separated from family, friends, and comforts entitled to those allowances? Please review child support policies. Thank YouREPORT COMMENTS
