Serve 65% of time in prison instead of 85% for non-violent crimes

Messages Sent So Far
Change the law for non-violent offenders to serve 65% of their time instead of 85%. Too much time is being giving to non-violent offenders. Most get more time than the person that killed, raped, molested, etc and it's not fair.. Fairness for everyone is all I'm seeking regardless of who you are. The law that's in effect now targets certain people.

Oklahoma has the highest number of people incarcerated than any state in the nation. Some of theses people had productive lives , supported their families and paid their taxes, and are not a threat to society. The prisons are over crowded and are costing tax payers money. This is ridiculous. Something needs to be done. My son was arrested for something the police THOUGHT he was going to do. Totally unfair. He has three boys that he loves dearly, they love and miss him and need him. Why hasn't someone looked in to this? Even the guard at the prison thought it was unreasonable. Murders serve less time, than he was given. What is wrong with this system? It's unbelievable. If I hadn't witnessed it my self I wouldn't believe it to be true. PLEASE look in to this and make some very necessary changes. Lets get the people that are non violent, productive citizens out of there and back to work

My son has to do 85 percent of 6 yrs for leaving a program for his drug addiction. The drug court program in New Jersey is a joke and sets this people up for failure this 85 percent rule must and should be changed. We are losing a generation of young adults to this stupid law let's change this rule

Yes I was incarcerated for seven years and I had to serve 85% of my time for nonviolence and I think that is unfair because I never cute no one at never harm no one I’d only home after ever done was to myself My mother always told me you make your bed you lie in it but I never harmed anyone

My son has a drug addiction and is a non-violent person. He has never robbed anyone or hurt anyone, but he did have minor previous drug convictions on his record. He was charged with conspiracy and received 292 months... 24.3333333 years in Federal prison. Seriously. My ex-husband, his father, and I were both the victim of burglary of a habitation and attempted capital murder and attempted rape and the man received 7-15 years. Tell me I am not ****ed!!!
