lots of people make mistakes everyday and they are wrong but that doesnt mean they are bad people and a threat to society 65% is more than enough time for a non violent offender and these people can make a difference in society and to their family's life so why waste money in the prisons and waste peoples chance in life for a mistakeREPORT COMMENTS

I feel like it would be better for them to make 65% of time the ones with non-violent crimes the ones that don't have a commit a crime with a gun the ones that don't sell drugs if someone say for instance if somebody was in a car and somebody was breaking in the house and the other person was in their sleep I don't feel like they should get the same time that other person is getting cuz it wouldn't be fair if the other person was on drugs and in that car sleep they don't have no idea what that person is done so they shouldn't be involved in getting that much timeREPORT COMMENTS

I think it is unfair for a non-violence offender to do 85% of their time because in prison non-violence inmates are surrounded by violence inmates because that can cause a-non -violence to become violence. The state should run more trades or college run camps to reduce the recidivism rate. I think people should receive good time according to what crime that they were charged for. It is unfair for every one to receive the same percentage of gain time because some charges are not as harsh as others.REPORT COMMENTS

I think is should be the way it is. Some people are serving more time than child molesters and etc. It's not fair for the ones that rant doing violent crimes to spend more time in prison than the ones who are doing violent crimes. A lot of the ones who are dealing, doing drugs are people who have trouble coping with things in life. I feel a few months in jail to help them getpassed the drugs and on with their future. I think jail is better for the drug problems people than rehab is.REPORT COMMENTS

It is not right that people who have drug problems have to put in jail, there is no help for them, even rehab programs cost to much and most of them go through insurance, it's easy to temporarily solve a problem what about in the long run? What about those people who have petty charges and get 3-5 years in prison but those who rape, and murder walk the streets like they didn't do anything wrong. That's what is wrong with our justice system. We try to put everyone in jail but not really help them get better, what is a man who has a drug problem going to do when he comes out in 3 years when he has a record and can't get a job? He will end right back in jail. Put these people in rehab centers help them get jobs and stay clean, help prisoners get the help they need to be a productive member of society, don't just lock them up. There's always a better way to do things and unfortunately the system we have now does not work!REPORT COMMENTS

In March of 2012, I woke up as I was being raped. That 'man' did 6 months and was released, just to get out and do the same thing to me again. I was told when he was given the 6 month sentence that a plea was necessary because my physical stature was larger than his and the prisons and jails were over-crowded anyway. Guess what? This man was an offender BEFORE he did what he did to me as well!!! He got out early because of 'good behavior' and once again, the prisons being over-crowded. Guess what? He's back in prison, AGAIN. Non-violent crimes that do not affect someone else's well being need to be changed from 85% to 65% (or even less), so that there is room in the DOC for the people that ruin other people's lives due to there predatorial behavior. Where is my justice? What about the other girls and women this man targeted? Where is their justice??? So you're telling me that you want to keep people that had a drug problem or stole something locked up like animals and let the people that truly are animals roam free? This has to change. I refuse to continue to be a victim to our failing system.REPORT COMMENTS

I feel that if they keep incarcerating people and forcing them to do this time people are going to start to her bail and a lot of innocent people will die behind this but if the government does not care why should we you take away someone's freedom for nothing I was told if there is no victim there is no crime but yet you will go to jail for a long time without a victim the congress makes money off of you being incarcerated States federal government makes money off of you being incarcerated because they texted people more money but yet we the people do not have rights to speak on what and where our money goes if everyone stopped working and didn't pay taxes then the government would be destroyed and we would still survive off of the Border systemREPORT COMMENTS
