For non violent offenders, punishment doesn't match the crime. The sentences given are as long as robery, rape, molesters, domestic violence crimes. Reducing the time for non offenders with good behavior is a,way to reduce overcrowding, and give these people a chance to be a positive contribution to society.

It's totally absurd that non violent offenders receive more time than violent offenders !!! Repeat CHILD MOLESTERS are serving less time than people with other non violent charges ... reducing the scentencing guidelines to 65% would be a step in the right direction...

I think it is ridiculous in our small town that someone who kills someone gets off free if they know the right people or they serve 12 years while someone with a non violent crime serves 8 and 10 years. It is ridiculous and costing taxpayers to keep them up while the violent offenders are running free. It does target the poor and minority groups because they can't afford to hire a top notch lawyer.

Non violent crimes do not fit the sentence they are given.

Non violent crimes should not serve the same as a violent offender.

I believe they should only have to serve 65% of time, most of the people are not dangerous to the public and I do agree that people that commit worse crimes just get a slap on the hand but people with federal charges get more time. I think they should get minimum time served at least 65% of time at max.

Our prisons are overcrowded and draining our nation. Let well behaved prisoners earn more good time and get released early or bring back parol in the federal system.
