Leave the Apache be in the States. This makes zero sense and puts too much power in the Federal Gov't.Nov 24th, 2014Someone from Springfield, MO signed.

i want to ask that you help fight to keep Apaches in state control. Not only is this another layer of protection in checks and balances, but it's also taking jobs of men and women who are willing to fight for you. Also, I know that it is safe to say that overall National Guard Pilots have more training and better equipped than Active Duty pilots. In the past, more Apache crashes have been those that are operated by the army. The National Guard constantly trains throughout the year and are always ready at their full capacity. They volunteered to fight for you, I ask that you do the same.REPORT COMMENTS

Guard units are comparable if not better trained than active duty units. It is not uncommon to find guard units with average flight time per pilot nearing 700-1000 hours while active duty units are normally in the 300-500 hour range. This is of no fault of the active duty units, it is strictly because of the dynamics of active duty and the move up and out culture. The guard breeds excellent aviators in all air frames and to remove them from the equation would be a travesty.REPORT COMMENTS
