This is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard. If they are going to put a tax on tanning, they might as well put a tax on beach goers as well, the real sun can be just as harmful as a tanning bed, and I think it should be up to the individual to decide what is best for their own body!

I own a tanning salon and a large percentage of my customers come in with a prescription from their dermatologist!! Many have vitamin D deficiencies and skin problems such as acne or psoriasis. This is the most discriminatory tax ever. it targets middle class caucasion women and female owned businesses. People who have never spent any time in a tanning bed get skin cancer! Maybe we should tax fitness centers, after all when you exercise you breathe harder creating more carbon dioxide and isn't that bad for you also! That's stupid I know but so is this tax. Next we will be taxing haircuts, pedicures, manicures and facials. They say red meat is bad for you so lets tax cows! Stupidity runs rampant!

This is an unfair targeting of a lot of small, female owned businesses. Some people tan because they have Vitamin D deficiency, much like myself.

Unfair and unbiased.Targets aminority population of consumers and providers that engage oin or provide tanning. Tanning has health benefits and few cases of "indoor tanning" can 100% w/out a doubt be linked skin carcinoma..... Smoking has a much higher rate of cancer both to the consumer and those exposed but a much lesser tax penalty!!! Seems unfair! Botox is ok and other invasive plastic surgery appears to be untaxed (breast reduction/augmentation, lipo surgery, tucks, lifts...extra all deemed untaxable and mostly cosmetic....interesting.

This tax is discriminatory against whites. If a tax had been proposed on a product used soley by minorities, it would never had passed. RACISTS!!!
