They are giving more time to people who are addicted to drugs than murderers, rapist, child molesters. Drug addiction is a sickness just like alcohol. Give them the treatment they need this isn't the answer sticking them in prison they need counseling and help for there disorders not prison.

My son is serving a 22 yr sentence and if he had been tried in state court would have gotten a 10 yr sentence. I miss him and his kids miss him.

Non violent criminals should not have long sentences that do not fit the crime. Prison time should be adjusted to minimal sentencing for nonviolent offenders.

My sons father is doing a nonviolence crime and has a sentence of 15 years. He has already missed all the first's for the first 10 years of his son's life and his daughter. With his time sentence, he won't even be able to see his only son graduate from high school. Children need their dad and mother in their life. If the prisoners are following all laws and doing everything can do in there to try and better themselves while serving their time and do not have murder charges then they should be able to receive reduce time and a chance for parole. It is hard for these men and woman once they are released to get a great job. They have to work hard to show everyone they are a changed person. Everyone deserves a second Chance and our children shouldn't have to suffer for sometimes unfair sentences issues by some judges. It is hard for me to take my son to see his father when he is 8 hours away and our son has health issues. Parole should be rewarded to each individual based on case by case.
