If employers require their employees to work! Then why are we not holding welfare recipients to mandated drug testing!

Its a shame that they take unemployment away from hard working citizens but yet welfare recipients get to keep their benefits, not to mention km ist of them are buying drugs and are cheating our system making it harder for those who really need the benefits.

Honestly I'm all for this but what is going to make this harder to achieve is the legalization of marijuana.

I work 40-80 hours a week and have mandatory drug tests, why shouldn't sombody receiving my hard earned money do the same. The way I see it, if you can walk down the block and buy a "rock" why can't you walk to work?

I believe it is only fair since they insist on drug testing the general public.

I have been a nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit in Louisiana. We have a heartbreakingly large number of infants born with positive tests for illegal drugs. Most of them have " mothers" dependant on Medicaid. Could being a drug addict possibly be WHY they don't have a job? It could also be because it is more lucrative to be on Medicaid than it is to have a job. We MUST stop enabling people to be unresponsible citizens and parents.

I know of people that abuse the system. There are people who have kids to get a bigger welfare check, but have money to go out and party on the weekends. It's disgusting, and my taxes are paying for it. When I have to get drug tested at my job to earn the paycheck that pays into the welfare system, the least that could be done is that they get tested to qualify.
