It's despicable how little has been done to change things. Standard bankruptcy protections must be restored for student loans!

I am still awaiting the day that something is done to help us with private student loans. Being disabled and unemployed there is no way for me to live my life with the amount of insurmountable debt I have. Bankruptcy should be available to student loans esp those of private lenders. There is nothing more unjust then knowing that credit card debt is eligible for bankruptcy, but not student loans.

Student debt is a national crisis. The overwhelming amount of debt created by trying to better oneself and one's country by earning a degree only keeps graduating students from becoming fiscally responsible and a contributing member of society. An education shouldn't be a sentence to debt, but a benefit to the student as well as society as a whole.

The student loan problems have become a mostly ignored way of practically enslaving people. Naturally, the people making money from the system will do anything to obfuscate the truth. The truth is my whole family has been impacted terribly negatively by intolerable debt, and many others are in worse situations. Bankruptcy protections can be a huge step towards fairness, so that people who cannot pay don't have their lives destroyed.
