Return uniform bankruptcy rights to student loans- something that that the founding fathers called for-ahead of the power to declare war, form a military, and coin currency when they gave power to Congress in the Constitution.

Please pass this bill, and bring bankruptcy protections back for all Private and Federal school loans. So the lives of so many, can regain their financial lives back !!! It's just not fair, we have allowed Millionaires and Billionaires to file in this country when they have financial hardships and we cant help our young adults , why ?? This is so sad this has gone on so long!! It would also control the cost of the astronomical college tuition that continues to be out of control !! So please help !!!

The fact that loans cannot be discharged through bankruptcy has directly caused the outrageous increase in college tuition. If this country really wants young people who can go into valuable research, teaching, goverment, social work, and so many of those lower paying fields that are the backbone of our country, they cannot leave college with crippling debt. Like Spain completely destroyed their housing market by not allowing homes to be discharged in bankruptcy, this country is rapidly killing the future economy by making investment in anything (housing, cars, material goods, advanced technology) unattainable for graduates coming out of college with crippling debt. A debt directly created by rising education costs because loans that can't be discharged are too easy to get, Stop the lip service about the value of education for this country and our youth and take action that shows real investment in our future. Return uniform bankruptcy rights to student loans.

We shouldn't have to pay to receive an education. Our government should take care of us in that regard. We also shouldn't be paying for other things such as electricity and water. These are necessities! The system is made to keep certain people down.

We did what we were told by society to better ourselves: go to college. We were also told, constantly, by the Dept. of Labor that we'd make a lot more money than if we didn't have degrees. Turned out the D of L was using the mean average, not the mode, and we were deceived, as tons of us are now working jobs in which degrees aren't required, for pay that causes us financial harm when we have to pay our loans on top of cost of living. Additionally, we were not informed that by taking these loans, it drops our credit scores at graduation beneath that of those who've never earned any credit. What does all of this say about America? That America works to cripple its younger generations -- the nation's future. America gave every opportunity to the Boomers, and had a fantastically successful generation, the most successful, as a direct result. Then took every opportunity away for Gen X, producing the first generation to not do better than their parents. It's even worse with Gen Y. Things have got to give, for America's future! Congress needs to start looking out for their people, and to wake up and discover that their people inc. Americans under 60! They want us to elect them, but they don't want to focus on a single one of the Gen X-Y issues, while they focus exlcusively on Boomer issues and political ideology, and expect us to get on board with caring more about that generation than ourselves. If politicians want our votes, start focusing on our issues!!!

It is unconstitutional to deprive a select group from legal protections afforded everyone else -- and blatantly immoral, as well.
