Education should be free and paid for by taxing financial transactions.

How can future generations succeed when burdened with thousands upon thousand of school debt?! Banks can borrow money for less than a penny for dollar, but students trying to do the right thing and better themselves are treated as cash cows by those very banks. and who caused the economic crash so those students can't even find a good job after they graduate? Oh yeah, the bankers and Wall Street!!!! 99% of America's population has been sold down the river by corrupt officials and bankers, it's not only obscene. it will destroy this country in the end! Please use good sense and stop listening to financial sector lobbyists who's only desire is to have millions of debt slaves to line their pockets!

Defaulted student loans are a trillion-and-a-half- dollars-per-year profitable business for the government. You bailed out the very banks that paid kickbacks to universities to steer students toward them and their unconscionable practices. Restore bankruptcy protections to college student loans now.

John Calvin set a cap on loan at about 5% ! This is usury at its worse . Relief is needed in some cases for white people ! Not all whites are born in the upper class! This is not a race issue but a justice issue .?You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.

Parent loans are out of control with a disastrous economic impact on what used to be the hard working middle class...

Many, including myself are suffering under these predatory loans- any other loan car or mortgage I can pay off in a reasonable amount of time. Both parties benefit. The lender makes money and I get to borrow money. BUT Student loans are DIFFERENT!!! They are truly predatory I have given them enough money to pay of my original borrow amount + enough for them to make a huge profit and yet my principal ONLY INCREASES. Sallie Mae/Navient are the ones who will crush our economy if this is allowed to continue.

The $50K I initially borrowed for school is now over $250,000 with the interest and penalties. I am 63, have a part-time job and the DOE still sees fit to garnish my part-time wages. enough!
