I've paid in for 26 years and have 24 more to go since I have to supplement my teachers salary with a part time job. Don't punish me. I've earned it working hard for decades.

On a promise, the government took from my paycheck for SSI for more than half my working life. Later in life, I earned a pension of $2,210 per month. Due to the Windfall Provision, I lost half of the SSI benefits I should have received according to what was taken from my paychecks. (Why are railroad workers and federal workers hired after 1983 exempted?) Since I earned the SSI benefits fair and square as did anyone else, why should the government break its promise to me?

Give people what they earn first. Life brings many changes and I had to change my profession and became a high school teacher.

MOST OF US HIT BY WEP RECEIVE PENSIONS UNDER $2500. PER MONTH. IS IT TRULY POSSIBLE THAT FEDERAL LEGISLATORS FAIL TO RECOGNIZE HOW UNFAIRLY WE LOW INCOME EARNERS ARE BEING TREATED? NOW, ON TOP OF BEING PENALIZED BY WEP, WE ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE 70% OF AMERICANS HELD HARMLESS FROM THE INCREASED MEDICARE PREMIUMS OF 2016 AND ALL FUTURE MEDICARE PREMIUMS. ONLY WE 30%, ALONG WITH BEING PUNISHED BY WEP, ARE ALSO THE ONLY AMERICANS WHO WILL ALWAYS SHOULDER FUTURE MEDICARE PREMIUM INCREASES. COULD ANYTHING BE MORE UNFAIR AND ILLOGICAL?

Windfall? Why is it a windfall when I have worked to get retirement? I am a retired high school teacher whose Social Security benefits were significantly cut because of benefits from state plans. Why cut the benefits from those who are already receiving so little?

WEP needs to be repealed, the multiple BILLS just keep floating in Congress with a few re-writes. I am a retired Civil Servant, having worked ranges 4- 9 and 19 years of Social Security with a deduction of 40% on the 19 years does not make sense!

We earned the money working in a non-civil service job--it's just not right to cut the small amount some of us get so severely. This should apply to all people receiving a civil service pension.

As a retired teacher hit by WEP/GPO, I urge you to support HR 711 and provide fairness by getting rid of the inequity created by WEP/GPO. Thanks for your consideration...

Please repeal the WEP/GPO! It is not fair to keep me from receiving my SS benefits when I paid in to SS for many years!

I began teaching at 40, after paying into SS for 20 years. I was not told that my SS would be reduced. Now potential teachers have to sign a waiver stating they know this. What is worse is that I lose my widow's benefits. Please repeal WEP/GPO

We could sure use Scott Pelly from 60 Minutes to do a 25 year story on this action. May he could bring out the truth about this enactment. Then maybe some more people would wake up and fight. We want what we paid for and deserve.

I retired from the Federal Government in 1993 and was eligible for both Civil Service and SSA pensions. I was told that I would receive less than half of my SS benefits because of WEP. Based on the irrefutable fact that our government is monetarily sovereign I have been victimized by legislation authorizing the "elimination of windfall Social Security benefits." THE IRREFUTABLE FACT OF U.S. MONETARY & FISCAL POLICY IS THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CREATES ITS DOLLARS EX NIHILO (OUT OF THIN AIR) and, therefore, never needs revenue to fund any of its programs. Moreover, our FICA tax payments do not fund Social Security benefits since they constitute IOUs, tax credits, liabilities of the Federal government, which are destroyed when the tax is paid and never recycled by the Federal government. Federal taxes do not fund the Federal government's Social Security Program just like income taxes and corporate taxes do not fund the Federal governments operations. Corporations and the rich understood this the minute Nixon abandon the gold standard in 1971. Corporate and high end income tax rates were reduced from 70% to 35% between 1974-2014 because they knew that a government issuing its own nonconvertible, fiat currency with a flexible exchange rate and all of its debt owed in dollars and not a foreign currency never needed to tax or sell securities to raise revenue to fund its operations. All it needed to do and does to this day is mark up checking accounts with its computers, ergo, ex nihilo creation of dollars. Therefore, the top 5% rationally opted to eliminate taxation when that revenue was never recycled or used to fund anything. It was, and continues to be destroyed. The 99% never got the memo and still can't believe that there is no such thing as paying fair shares to fund public services, highways, defense, NIH, SS/M/M, etc. The only purposes for taxation are to force acceptance of the paper dollar because we need them to pay taxes, manage inflation and income distribution. Tax policy is not designed to fund the Federal government. State and local tax policies are a must because those entities do not issue their own currencies like the Federal government. Therein lies the sole difference on why the Federal government does not need to manage its budget the way states, firms, and households do. We are users not issuers of the dollar. http://goo.gl/a5zMg6 The WEP is based on fraud. It wrongly tells us that the government's Social Security program faces a solvency risk. This can only happen through political decisions not because Trust Funds have a zero balance. Even then, benefits would continue to be paid because the Federal government pays everything with fiat dollars. All that is needed is a political decision to appropriate funding. The government NEVER NEEDS TO GET DOLLARS FROM ANYWHERE OR ANYONE. It need only use its computers to mark up checking accounts the same way Bernanke used them to create
