The results of the 2016 presidential election are a national disgrace. This is the second time in recent history that the candidate who won the popular vote has been denied the office of the President. Only the abandonment of the electoral college can prevent this from happening again.REPORT COMMENTS

The Electoral College is an institution that should be deleted. When our country was founded, travel and communication took weeks and months. We did not the instantaneous communication and the rapid travel we have now. The elections should be won by the candidate who wins the greatest number of votes. One Person - One Vote.REPORT COMMENTS

Why are we still allowing a handfull people decide who is the leader of our country. Electoral voters are not bound to vote who they said they were going to vote for. Give it back to the people. Popular means each his own voteREPORT COMMENTS

The Electoral college was originally designed to prevent slaves from voting and later to prevent women from voting. The time has come to destroy it completely. No better time than the midterm elections of 2018. By that time Democrats will be filled with rage over the inept Trump presidency and as is tradition with first midterms, will take back some house and senate seats. More Democrats will be coming out of the woodwork to vote against anything Republican, including the Republican backed Electoral college. The Electoral college is the only thing that allows Republicans to win big elections in the first place and they will fight hard and use deception to keep it. Start this ball rolling now.REPORT COMMENTS

The Electoral College, while it was supposed to bring fairness to voting among states, has failed miserably at it's job and instead created a system of Injustice that allows candidates to pander to specific states and essentially cheat their way into the presidency, and I do not want to live in a country that allows that sort of system.REPORT COMMENTS

Isn't the point of voting supposed to allow us to all have an equal say in the matter? Where is the equality for reds in a blue state, or blues in a red state? The people of the united states would feel better about their government if it was an easily decided "Majority Rules" vote. Also stop making the presidency campaign be this mockery that it is now, this reality tv show that destroys our minds and just smears the opponent. I want to vote for a good person to run this country. Not pull my hair out over which is the lesser of two evils.REPORT COMMENTS

It is time to end the Electoral College and let the popular vote decide who is elected! The principles underlying the Electoral College no longer apply. A minority should not decide for the majority of citizens. That is not what democracy is all about.REPORT COMMENTS
