The electoral college voting is a big flaw for electing prez. It must be eradicated as it is outdated. The public vote is the most powerful constitutional right everywhere in the world. It doesn't make sense to choose electoral over popular votes. This is a bad example of boycotting citizen right. Why to waste money for the public voting? Why not directly hold electoral college voting only? This electoral college voting system hints the political representatives own the country. It is an obstacle of democracy which implies government is of the people, by the people and for the people. -

I stood in line for 2 hours to cast my vote only to find out it did not count! Abolish the electoral college. Why in a democracy to those chosen few have the final say/vote. The voting process should be just that. Vote for vote who ever has the most when ALL votes are counted is the winner. Sad to say...but I will no longer be wasting my valuable time standing in line to vote knowing it is a complete waste of my time because the electoral college is the only votes that truly matter. You won't see me voting again. Hillary Clinton was the candidate the PEOPLE obviously voted for. She should be our president. I truly dread the next 4 years in the United States. We as a country are being laughed at by other nations for naming Trump as our president. Trips to Canada prior to the election were eye opening. The border guards even thought it was the biggest joke that we were even considering him! They voiced their opinion openly. ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE and "make America great again" and I will again stand in line to cast my vote, but only when I know it truly does count.REPORT COMMENTS

I do know that as long as we have an electoral college I will never again vote in a presidential election. With a candidate getting the popular vote and these electoral college people coming in and changing the peoples vote is not a good thingREPORT COMMENTS

Hello I'm Joshua Brown. I'm 13 years old. I totally agree with your petition. The electoral college is undemocratic and I'very done some research on this and in the 2016 election, 90,000,000 people didn't vote. I asked those I know that didn't vote. They said, "Í didn't vote because I know my vote doesn't matter." This proves America doesn't have democracy after all. Also a peaceful election means a peaceful government, a peaceful government means peaceful relationships with other countries and citizens, that means less war. I think getting rid of the electoral college is the best way to go.REPORT COMMENTS

It is unfortunate in this day of time, that we still hold on to obsolete ideas. People are intelligent enough to know who they want to lead this country and our vote should matter. Why vote, if it is being stripped away from us by people with special interests or something to gain. United States will never move forward unless we get rid of the electorial college. I personally am upset to know my vote means nothing. The end result is more people will become dis-enfranchised with the voting processs and elect not to vote at all. I am also concerned about the actual voting process. How do we know our votes are not being changed with today's technology. I do not trust the current voting system.REPORT COMMENTS

We live in an age where communication is easy, and where most of the younger generation (OUR FUTURE) agree that going with the more forward-thinking, accepting, diverse political candidates are our best bet. The popular vote reflects this. The electoral college has allowed a bigoted, unpredictable, trollish, rapist to take office. It's time. Get rid of it. It doesn't reflect the message of this country, which is freedom and justice for ALL.REPORT COMMENTS

We have had too many elections where the president chosen by the Electoral College is not the president elected by the majority of voters. We are long past the days when we need the Electoral College to mediate and expedite the presidential election process. Technology permits us virtually instantaneous results so we can rightfully rely on a direct election by the majority vote.REPORT COMMENTS

Abolish the college electoral vote. A president needs to be elected by the majority of the people, not by 538 electoral votes. This election is a joke, you have appointed racist bigot to be our next president and that's the last thing we need in this country. We already have enough issues with cops killing blacks, poverty, homeless, veterans without benefits, etc. ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL VOTE - They do not represent the majority of the peopleREPORT COMMENTS

Every popular vote should count. Th electoral college is not serving our democracy. It is a convoluted, archaic system that doles out political party favors to political hacks. One person, one vote must be the law of the land. This would empower the electorate to vote, knowing that every vote directly matters.REPORT COMMENTS

We don't need them, they always makes wrong decision and the US people have to pay for their lack of common sense.
