Never let the government tell you wjat is the best thing for you. We are the change! Let no one tell you you can not have what cures your aliments. Cannabis is a means for a better life for us all. You can use it for everything!!!!! It is a natural clean and safe.

New poll shows Hoosiers overwhelmingly support medical marijuana Last update: October 20, 2016 An October 2016 poll found 73% of Indiana voters support creating a medical marijuana program in the state. The WTHR/Howey Politics Indiana-commissioned poll found majority support among all demographics. Eighty-two percent of Democrats and 59% of Republicans support protecting patients. There was strong support among all age groups, with the lowest support a still overwhelming 57%, among seniors, age 65 and older. Although champions such as Sen. Karen Tallian have introduced several compassionate bills over the years, the legislature has yet to take this sensible step. Please let your lawmakers know where you stand on this important issue and help build support for reform next session. Indiana Legislature concludes without progress

It is pure ignorance to keep locking people up for a plant the poses no physical or mental harm in any way, I am a young man in Indiana who has never had trouble with the law other than this issue. And this issue is causing a decrease in my quality of life while it's illegal

I have a connective tissue disorder and can't take the medications used to treat it. I had a stroke four years ago, currently on disability. I suffer from sleep disorder, pain, irritability and depression . I don't want to take steroids, they swell me up, but thats my only option. People I know in other States where its Legal they have rights to smoke and so they don't take medication's that can potentially harm and kill them, I'm thinking about MOVING OUT OF INDIANA AND TO A STATE WHERE ITS LEGAL! Why should I have to suffer and be punished when less than 40 miles away from my home, Marijuana is LEGAL!? Doesn't make since, they get better treatment just right next door? Please take Legalizing marijuana both for medicinal and recreational purposes into vonsideration this election. It may even help our current crime rate, just saying. :-)

Please consider Legalizing Medical Marijuana for those Hoosiers that don't want to use medicines that cause terrible side effects to assist them with living a somewhat more normal life. Our veterans if any thing that suffer from PTSD and people that suffer from seizures deserve more that the FDA approved drugs that don't really work as they should.

Its not about the pain and suffering of the American public, congress does not care about your cancer, your chronic pain or any other aliment people suffer from. CONGRESS DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE VOTED THEM INTO OFFICE TO REPRESENT OUR VOICES! FOLKS WE NEED TO ORGANIZE AND IMPEACH THESE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT FIGHT FOR WHAT WE THE PEOPLE WANT. the legalization / decimalization movement has been going on since the sixties with very little progress to date. The federal government still classifies marijuana as a schedule 1 substance in the very same class as heroin!! why? because the federal government knows they cannot control something that grows in your back yard. We the people need to stop trying to rationalize with the state and federal government and take action ourselves and impeach the crooks that we have put into power. The miracles marijuana has been proven to provide medically time and time again makes no difference to the criminals that label themselves as lawmakers, the worse part about this is that you and I have put these criminals in the position to represent us and they have failed time and time again. The law makers believe it to be perfectly acceptable to allow the pharmaceutical company's to provide all sorts of goodies like Vicodin, Percocet and oxycodone that has devastated this nation from coast to coast. WE THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER TO OUST THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE FAILED US.,,,,, LET GO PEOPLE!!!.

Marijuana needs to be allowed for both medical and recreational. When I was younger I used it, it made me relax, hungry, and able to sleep. I'm sure a lot of good will come out of it. Decriminalizing it will save state funds when it comes to prison populations. Hell tax it and make money for the state, schools, etc. Take a look at how Colorado and Seattle do it, same system would work here as well. Why should they reap all the benefits?

I know for a fact that you need to put Marijuana into the state of Indiana. At least do medical marijuana for people like me. I am tired of using my COPD, Asthma and emphizima meds and putting chemicals into my body. When I know for a fact that marijuana will stop it completely not just half way like my other meds. I would much rather smoke what god put on this earth rather then man made chemicals. I am about 100% positive that I could come off more of my meds then just the ones that I have talked about. Now you talk about prisons being over filled, well legalize marijuana and let these only you have in there for marijuana let them out. Duhhhhh you will free up a lot of space. Look I am 52 never been in prison or with the law. I have all my problems that I deal with on a daily basics and it seems no one cares even though Marijuana does help others like me ... give it a shot and see if it helps others like me. Dear lord its worth a shot please I sit here in pain daily and because Indiana will not allow family doctors to give out pain meds because they are scared. Well I don't blame them. Trust me I know from my past that you can't get hooked on marijuana its the fact that it helps others that are truly hurting or what ever the case might be that might help them along with me please give it a try what can it hurt.? I can sit here and go on and on about what good it will help others along with myself. Have a great day

Pharmaceuticals are doing more harm versus the cannabis plant which is proving to be the more natural and healthier alternative, if 26 states have legalized it Id like to see our Hoosier state become the 27th. It promises a healthier, safer future, not to mention a healthier economy.

I suffer from severe chronic pain due to a head on car accident that forced me to have one neck surgery and one lower back. It causes SSM which are back spasms which can cause problems walking. I also suffer from Chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, anxiety and insomnia. This has all been diagnosed by physicians. I've been on pain medication for years after under going extensive physical therapy. I feel that it should be my right to be on a natural pain control like medical marijuana which has helped with pain, anxiety and my back spasms vs pharmaceuticals which constantly causes side effects not to mention killing my kidneys, liver and stomach. I've been smoking medical for years and it has never been a gateway to harder drugs. I call crap on that and people who have been on pain medication say they go to harder drugs. I call that BS too! I'm 52 years old and have been sick since 2007 and I have never had the urge to do harder drugs. They r called drug addicits for a reason and it is because they like hard core drugs period. Feeling frustrated because the state of Indiana wants to ignore the facts!! People r sick and should have the choice medically not recreationally!!!!

My wife is fighting stage 3 lung cancer. She has panic attacks often. I believe that anyone with this kind of pain should be able to take any drug available to help them. 25 states already has this bill pasted. Its time Indiana made it #26. I ask the the elected officials of this state to take a good serious look at bill 209 and past it without judgement.

I dont smoke it myself, but in doing all the research ive seen how it helps alot of patients with some serious medical problems. We're not asking for recreational we ask for medical. And to all of you on senate who say it doesn't have any medical uses why do you have a patent on it for medical use? I lost my grandmother who raised me since i was 2 to cancer a day after my birthday, she wouldn't and couldn't eat and i believe that had medical Marijuana been legalized she would still be here today. Look whats happened to all the other states where it is legal we have less over crowding of jails, cops are able to focus on more serious crimes, and because of the tax money schools and the police force have more money on hand. What happened to our voice in the government? This fight has been going on for years, 57% of americans want Marijuana to be legalized, but yet every bill still gets denied and its not because of us, its not by our choice its yours. Marijuana has so much potential to help this economy, you have hemp you can use to make rope, clothes, paper All these things but yet we dont use any of it. It has the potential to pull us out of our debt but we cant see that because we're blinded by made up statistics from 30 years ago. Heres some statistics for you 10.7 billion dollars is spent every year fighting against Marijuana, And as we are in the middle of an outstanding debt that keeps getting bigger everyday we ignore the possibility of a better outcome because of your hatred of Marijuana not ours yours. Lets be honest here the only reason its not legal is because pharmaceutical companies would take a huge dive, why cure a disease when you can keep someone on a $30 pill for the rest of their lives, and thats money out of your pocket. We're not stupid and we're not blind we see whats going on. How can a pill thats kill hundreds of thousands of people still be legal and doctors can prescribe it to their patients, but yet a plant thats never kill anyone a plant that can cure or put cancers in remission be illegal, not one death has been reported because of Marijuana, but alcohol and tobacco 2 of the leading causes of deaths in americans the cause of violent crimes, rapes, and murders are perfectly legal. Ask yourselves does that make sense?

I have countless medical issues including a blood disorder that causes extreme pain. I flew to Oregon last summer and was able to legally buy recreational marijuana to see if it would help my condition. It did. It helped more than the six pills I have to take a day to keep the pain away and brain functioning. I believe this state really needs to legalize the use of medicinal marijuana. Many women in my neighborhood have been developing breast cancer and going through chemo and could use the benefits. It is the only thing that has helped me and I wish to push this state to give it another look. It will help thousands upon thousands. Read into all of the benefits cannabis has done for Colorado, Oregon, Washington etc. It helps with depression and anxiety which are two mental illnesses that can lead to suicide. Cannabis can in fact save people from doing the unthinkable by giving their minds what they need. An article I read stated many people were concered marijuana becoming the next tobacco. I would like to say tobacco has proven to give people cancer while marijuana helps people with cancer. If my comments and the many many more along with mine do not prove how benefical it would be nothing will. With everything going on this is the one thing most people actually agree on.

Indiana Law makers *****, whine, complain and, boohoo all the time about not having enough money for roads, schools and, exedra! Cannabis opens up a whole new world for taxes as a side benefit to legalizing cannabis. Whether it be recreational or just medical there is a lot of income that the state can make to put towards schools and Roads with cannabis.

A man should feel free to imbibe. Not have his hand held by greed in guise of health. We the people should have a voice, but we do not. These are sad times when a responsible adult can not make the decision to have a smoke without fear of recourse. We exist in a world where a man can spend 20 years in prison for possession, but a child rapist gets off with 6 months. Time for the common folk to wake up.
