This should be done country wide because North Carolina needs to do the same thing because we have so many killings and theses types of crimes that needs to be looked at more seriously.

My little sister is serving a 20 year sentence here in Mo. In October 2016 she will have 13 years dun on her 20 year sentence she has missed out in all 3 if her kids life's has not been able to see her children or be a mom to them. I and a lot of people believe she has dun more than enough time for her crime and no 1 was hurt or killed. Murders and child molesters do less time than she was given over $35.00 I do believe that prison should be used to rehabilitate (if possible) and if your an drug addict as in many of her and other prisoners are that they need to go to a licked down drug rehab and serve their time and see if it's possible to get them back into society as a productive citizen and not use our prisons as warehouses for our family friends Neighbors and people who we don't know and make them institutionalized and unable to become productive citizens in our society. Some of these prisoners as my sister is just needed drug Rehabilitation as if they are off of the drugs they don't behave and do things they would of never of dun. Some offenders can and are willing to change Tere life's but are not given the opportunity to do just that. We need to give them the chance to do that. just incarcerating them and throwing away they key dose only more harm to them and not only them but their families and friends so people who never committed a crime are being punished also for their crime their children parents brothers and sisters grandparents and so on. Let's make a change not make more pain. As this can affect the children more than anyone wants to see or believe as I have seen it first hand. Children wo so miss there parents or think if my parent is in prison it must be cool and turn down the wrong road also because they are not Tere to make sure their child knows they did wrong and don't go down the path that they have cause this is what will happen if they do. Make a difference not more prisoners!!!!

There should not 85% sentences for 1st time offenders. Actually there should not be prison sentences for young adults under the age of 25. Young adults brains do not mature until 25 years of age.

My fiance has done 14 years on a crime he was charged with. He's grown and is a better man because of his time. Even though his case is very questionable, I wish he was given another chance to show he has become better
