I am a Reconnaissance Marine who's skills do not translate easily into a civilian equivalent. Those skills are nearly irrelevant now because I'm being medically separated. My dream, for much of my life, has been to fly. Now, my service with the Marine Corps has enabled me to pursue a career as an aviator by utilizing the earned benefit of the GI Bill. This entitlement is being threatened now by the proposals being made to severely and detrimentally limit the use of the GI Bill for the purpose of gaining FAA pilot ratings for employment. Please do regulate the GI Bill's use to prevent overspending from greedy flight schools, but don't make it impossible to achieve a career or simple employment as a pilot. The current proposal of capping flight tuition is not enough to satisfy most flight curriculum, specifically rotary aviation. The only possible way to achieve a pilot career with these proposals is through the use of student loans. Scholarships for pilots are near impossible. This proposal does not make a veteran employable. -

STOP H.R 475 I served honorably for 8 years, originally joining to fly. Well the Army said no, but I continued to serve the remainder of my term, waiting for the day I could use the G! bill for flight training. Now Congress is trying to say no. If this bill passes, I feel that Congress owes me the monetary equivalent of 8 years of my life.REPORT COMMENTS

I fulfilled my duty for 6 years. Now I attend a credible school that is following all the rules. Is cutting benefits for a few hundred Vets going to effect the budget? That money saved is not even a tiny drop in the bucket but it is everything to the Vets trying to pursue an aviation career.REPORT COMMENTS

This bill will decrease tax revenue to the government by not allowing veterans to become pilots who in the long run will pay back these costs and then some in income tax.REPORT COMMENTS

My mother was one of the first female helicopter pilots in the Army. My inspiration and passion to fly is because of her. I spent over 8 years on active duty myself, and when I was honorably discharged, I jumped on my dream to follow in her footsteps.REPORT COMMENTS

This bill will hinder the dreams of those that have abortions to become a pilot after their service. Do not restrict veterans from pursuing their dreams to fly. There are plenty of more pressing issues aside from messing with the futures of those that are giving or that have gave their lives for the protection of this great nation.REPORT COMMENTS
