Marine mammals are supposed to be protected under the MMPA and CITES. Laws only protect if they are enforced. As an American, as an advocate for marine mammals, it is abhorant to me to find this permit being considered. This must not be allowed to happen! Whales and dolphins are important not only to thier own ecosystems but to all ocean ecosystems - once the oceans are dead so are we. This is the most ludicrous display of stupidity from the government yet. The answer is NO, you cannot do this to our oceans and our world.
