I think everyone should be able to have a family visit. The inmates on deathrow are the ones that the prison seems to forget about. The inmates have kids & wives that they would love to see. If they have been staying out of trouble then I dont see the problem & not to mention it will cut back on alot of rapes

Sanctity of marriage is important, why should inmates be the exception to this rule? As long as they are on good behavior, their original crime was not sexual in nature, and they have no history of sexual or domestic abuse both outside and inside prison, then they should be allowed a conjugal visit every so often.

I highly respect and appreciate the hard work that's being done on the hill. However, I would like to request that you give lifers back their family visits, this is a Time when we need HELP from all aspects to help guide these Fatherless/Motherless children in the right direction. Look the system is not set up to raise anyone else's child, yes we have a lot of righteous programs that are dried and yes I love being able to be there for fatherless children but I would love to more if these children have a chance to set and spend some 1 on 1 time... Believe me parents do not want their children to commit crimes no loving parent wants that.. There's many individuals in prison who need to be there, at this time their no good to anyone. However, their are many many prisoners who are trying to truly repent their transgressions and want to make a change for the better.

I have been visiting my son for over 22 yrs. and often I feel that we would enjoy some time alone for a weekend. He is very strong in his faith in God and I have been diagnoised with lung cancer and would love to be able to pray and praise God without distractions. It is my belief that he would benefit greatly away from the constant violence within prison life.

I believe strongly that should give back the overnight visits to a lifer , my husband committed his crime as a juvenile, his life has made a complete turn around, an he has become a model prisoner after being incarcerated for 26years, I know that getting back family visits would be a blessing, I'm praying that the God I serve be the judge of all . I know he didn't bring him this far to let him down. Let thy will be done for all of us ????????????????

AS IF DEALING WITH THE FACT U WILL SPEND THE REST OF UR LIFE BEHIND BARS AWAY FROM UR LOVED ONES ISNT ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH.. THE STATE JUST HAS TO PUT THE ICING ON THE CAKE AND TAKE AWAY THE ONE THING THAT WOULD MAKE SERVING A LIFE SENTENCE BARABLE. MANY LIFERS COMMITTED THERE CRIMES AS JUVENILES AND HAVE GROWN AND CHANGED WITH THE YEARS THEREFORE I FEEL SHOULD BE GIVEN THE CHANCE JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE INMATES TO SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH THERE MOTHERS FATHERS BROTHERS SISTERS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.. MOST IMPORTANTLY IN MY EYES THERE SPOUSES THERE CHILDREN WHO IN A VERY BIG WAY NEED THAT BONDING TIME WITH THERE DAD OR MOM WHOS SERVING A LIFE SENTENCE WITH OR WITH NOT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE. I HAVE FAITH ONE DAY ILL HOLD MY HUSBAND AND WATCH HIM PLAY WITH OUR GIRLS . GOD HEAR MY PRAYERS PLEASE LET 2017 BE THE YEAR!

I really believe that they should get visits back because that will keep them out of trouble we already stand it some people make mistakes because if you have made mistakes everybody should have to pay for them if they don't have nothing to look forward to give me what do you else you want them to do

When the last time you got to hold them & now being sentenced & not to sure when you will be able to hold them they need to give them this chance because life is a heavy word & none should have to suffer that much without holding or having intimacy with their loved one because we would do everything we can just to be with them or by their side. Please give these men who I'm sure realizing a lot in there including mines to please have this opportunity again to have conjugal visits I wouldn't love it more than to sleep next to my loved one! An they do still have a life & need a life even from the inside not to be locked up an not be able to touch at reality! They miss their families and it shouldn't be taken from them like that!

To thise who believe that those who are serving a life sentence should not be able to have kids because tax payers have to pay for their children since they do not have to pay child support, please think about the following. At the moment, we are supporting thousands of people on welfare, those who are just too lazy to work, are living on their asses. Those people are not even trying, but many of those people in prison are trying for a better life. They have made a mistake yes, i do agree; but why should they not try for a better life. Keyword is tru here people. I would rather support someone who wants a change in their life rather than have someone sitting on their*****with their hand streched out every month pulling almost 1k every damn month.

This is really stupid, why should lifers be able to make babies and never pay child support. They are doing life period. Tax payers should not have to pay for prison made babies!

It is not fair to punish all inmates that are lifers for the crime of one lifer. Yes, his crime was unexcusable but everyone should not have to suffer for this guys error in his ways. Giving the family visits to lifers will reduce crime rates as the family visits are seen as a gem in the eyes of the inmates and most will stay on their best behavior in order to not lose this most sacred privilege of spending the weekend with your family and loved ones. There could be extra precautions taken to ensure that the same thing is not repeated and stricter guidelines for family visits for lifers but they still deserve the opportunity to spend time with loved ones and they are already paying for their crime by doing their time by spending the rest of their lives in prison. Some committed the mistakes when they were really young and not fully matured or they might have thought of the consequences all the way through and they should not have to sacrifice the human connection that everyone craves and desires. I am married to an inmate and there was a chance he could have gotten life and I was still going to be by his side and I will always support my man and being surrounded by loved ones helps keep the inmates at bay and not as easily ready to pop off or jump in when a riot or a fight breaks out. It also helps relieve stress and helps tame anger issues by allowing them to be surrounded by those that love them and understand them no matter what they have done or the crime (s) they committed.

Every person deserves a second chance. Passing this law will reduce inmate to inmate violence, mental health issues, and diseases. Please give these inmates a chance for hope and change. What better counselor then there own love ones.

I HONESTLY BELIEVE IN SECOND CHANCES I SAY THIS LAW SHOULD PASS AND GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE THEY NEED TO FEEL LOVE AND WANTED NOT TREATED LIKE ANIMALS I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE SB9 SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO THE AGES OF 23 WIT THE SB260 AND THE SB261 THAT LEAVES THE LWP AGES FROM 15 TO 23 OUT OF THE PICTURE.

If they allow lifers to have family or conjugal visit it would be a great opportunity for family connections the down fall is that some men wont get the chance because it is said if they have a domestic violence charge it would not apply to them which is said because all other crimes apply we need to change thay and all them all to have the rights to family visit especially if they have served there time for it I too vote to have family visit back without restrictions
