In my opinion the program actually only approves people who will most likely foreclose anyway, not the ones who will actually be able to make the payments long term.

Loan modifications are made to fail. Also according the rules from the US treasury this is nothing but scam on the American people. I can prove it.

We did a short sale on our home in May. This was after trying for more than 3 years to get any help from Bank of America. I received from them a package including an application for the Home Affordable Modification Program a few days ago. That doesn't make sense to me. The goverment should not allow the banks to do this to taxpayers. We wanted to keep our home but we couldn't; so, now our hopes and our morall are down like is the case of thousands of people living in this country.

You use our tax dollars to bail out the banks with the understanding they are going to help underwater homeowners modify their loans. Guess what they took our money and now they are taking our homes . Thank's big government

The leaders of this country cannot manage their spending, yet we are expected to be held of higher standards. Did I miss something or are these the same people that are supposed to be our role models. It is time to fight back and file for bankruptcy. Credit does not mean what it use to mean. Be a nomad.

I would like to add that if you are going through the modification process with the bank that the bank should not be allowed to call and harass you reguarding next payment since during this process bank are not accepting any payments.

we are in the same situation as thousands of homeowners out there who want to do the right thing and stay in our homes, but the red tape and bs are keeping it from happening. We have been in out home for 16 years and fear we may lose everything because of it. Banks making billions in profits get bot bailed out. Who cares about the homeowner with children to feed, who cares about us? No one. This is a system of bigoted lying politicians and lawyers that make it impossible for the homeowner to succeed. It is a game they play constantly and the government allows it. I dont believe in any ot them they will lie to your face. But one day the big guy upstairs will demand accountability from them all and see who will bail them out then.

I was approved for a modification, have proof from my lender's servicing company that I made my trial payments on time and still never received a permanent modification. My house was still foreclosed on and sold at auction as a result of the lender's attorney making a false representation to the court that I had defaulted on the modification! MY FAMILY NEEDS HELP! Even the attorney's I have hired have been incompetent to deal with this mess, because even they do not understand the pervasiveness of this LAWLESSNESS!

I have applied for a modification loan for the past year from PHH Mortgage, NJ I have been asked for the same documents over & over & over! I have sent them their requested documents over & over. Thier tactics of delaying is unprofessional and unethical as they have now told me that my review would go thru faster if I missed 3 payments which also would automatically put me into foreclosure and not quarrentee any help from them. Please help!!!

I'v been trying to get a modification from Chase for over a year and have gotten nowhere. Now I have a sale date and I'm still in the modification processs. This is not legal for them to sell my house while my modification is in review. I have lived here for over 40 years and need HELP with this nightmare. I believe there is a law that states they cannot sell my house while they working on a modification! Where can I get help with this?

I have been working with the lender for over two years to get a modification after loosing my job in the mortgage industry. Now my house is in foreclosure, and the fear of incompentance hovers over us on a daily basis, while I wait for a final approval.

I have a 80/20 split loan. My husband was out of work for 2 1/2 years and just started back working a month ago. We were living off of one income and paying bills with our credit cards. There were times when I didn't even have money for diapers or food for the children. Thank God I had friends and family that helped me through those rough times. The mortgage companies that own my loans will not help me. Please put a stop to this nonsense and help people stay in their homes. My interest rates are 6.9% and 10.9% on the loans I hold. My house has depreciated by about $40,000 since I purchase it 6 years ago...I don't know what to do.

Recently divorced with only one income, I was denied by IndyMac mortgage (80% loan) because of my gross income, who takes home their gross income? Additionally, they did not incorporate my 20% loan because it's not IndyMac's problem. No help is being offered to me not even an exteneded payment plan. CitMorg (20%) claims they lost my paperwork just like IndyMac claimed so many times. The mortgage companies/bank are so eager to offer options such as foreclosures and short sales but I want to keep my home. I don't want to short sell to someone that I would like to purchase my home for. I purchased my home for $290,000.00 and it is only worth $165,000.00. Then if I should short sale/foreclose I will not be able to purchase another home for several years. The banks will get paid through the Obama Modification program if I should take those options and then get paid for the short sale. Was this program designed for hard-working homeowners or the banks? I am so upset with this plan, changes should be made!
