After reading so many comments I must agree. I had a mortgage with Countrywide and tried to get a mod then it was sold to BOA whom still denies us a Mod. and I must remind you BOA purchased our risky mortgage from countrywide, how can they purchase this and get away with it with out making any attempt to mod the loan, we were two months behind and were getting threatning letters for intent to fourclose so when we got our income tax we made the payment current, then were told we no longer qualify but we made payment to stay out of forclosure, we could have used that money for food and utilities and now we have no heat no hot water no electric and we use the fireplace to make mac and cheese everyday for dinner we are living like ancient cave famalies this is not the american dream we were promissed -

Why does the school superintendant making $500,000 a year who makes this kind of money it's a wonder ehy we are in the sictuation we are in, come to Nassau county I will point out many things we can save money on, with what I know we can save millions or billions a year. The government could put millions of people to work by training them to audit all US mortgages (commercial, and domestic). Stop foreclosures now, require the federal government to audit every mortgage for proper paperwork/chain of handling. Mr. President, give the American people the same assistance you have provided the banks. Please help us.REPORT COMMENTS

I am disabled and i have just been diagnoist with throat cancer i get disabilty but my wife has a decent paying job the reson we went behind on our mortgage is because i became disabled and my wife had lost her job of 7years.now we able to pay the note they won't work nothing out with us and we know they should because our intrest rate with BOA is 10.74% and there's room to work with us we signed a 20 yr fixed loan we still have 15years.They keep deining us .They even doubled our income and we went to neighborhood housing consuling the called BOA with us in the office and went over our income so the said the would give it a second look and it's been 3months since and still no answer but they sure served us with a sale date.it's been almost 3years we been dealing with them.We need help soon.REPORT COMMENTS

This plan needs help for the people, not the lenders. We have been "in review " for a modification since December 23, 2008. It is now August 3, 2011, and we have remained "in review" & have been fighting foreclosure action against us even after making the trial payment amounts faithfully for 17 months. It seems that they are allowed to milk the time to put us in more debt. If they would have worked in the time frame they say(30-45 days), we would've been modified long ago.REPORT COMMENTS

Someone needs to rise up & defend the hardworking people who are trying to have a roof over their heads. Shame on you lenders who lie to people & take advantage of people & kick them while they are down! Someday soon the borrowers will be justified. God will come to our defense & the lenders will be held responsible for their irresponsible actions that cost people their homes!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Two years ago I was approved for a HAMP modification with Citi Mortgage, THEN they sold my mortgage to AHMSI, I have been trying for the modification with them for 18 months, have been told numerous lies by their reps, filled out paperwork numerous times, and still I am getting the runaround, they started running foreclosure ads in the local paper for two weeks and I NEVER recieved legal notice of this intent. Now, they are saying re-submit the paperwork again for an in-house modification, but they send HAMP paperwork again! I'm so sick of this merry-go-round...REPORT COMMENTS

We were approved for a final modification last April, after orginally applying as soon as I knew that I was unable to go back to work in August 2009 & making my trial payments from oct thru Mar/April,& been paying consistenly since, BUT still am being told, we weren't approved, didn't send documents in ontime, here's another trial, oh let's start all over again, numbers weren't right...omg what other excuse can they come up with!!!! In Feb 2011, they sent me ANOTHER trial modification & I flipped, told them NO, I was already approved LAST YEAR and why after calling every week for the last year and then just monthly can you people not get this straightened out!!? I do have someone on my side and it is NOT my relationship manager who has NEVER called me, NEVER tried to get this straightened out, NOTHING!!! Last time I talked to someone they told me to continue paying the original final mod payment amount & they would get my relationship manager to call & that because I have been in compliance that I should just be approved for that amt that I've been paying for the last year. Oh and no phone calls from anyone, no letters, nothing until today, i get a call from my NEW relationship manager, explained the entire situtation to him & hopefully he can get this straightened out...so frustrating, so unfair...I lost my job due to being hurt & unable to continue working and have done EVERYTHING that they have asked and still almost 2yrs later, still not fixed...this sucks!!! Hopefully, my new relationship manger can get this fixed, he just sounds like he will, too...fingers crossed...thanks for listening!!!REPORT COMMENTS

BOFA set me up to defaut to later foreclose on my home. I sought assistance through NACA, they too dragged their feet and right when the lender was ready to modify my loan a tax document was missing. When I sent it back to NACA, they failed to submit it to BOFA and in turn I lost my home. FNMA is looking past the big picture and making it seem as though I failed to follow through. Therefore my rescission was denied!REPORT COMMENTS

I have been going through the Modification since 3/09 with Bank of America, I was told to make 3 trial payments and I should have an answer, 3 months went by and they asked for more info and said to keep making the trial payments until they made a decision. Finally I get a denial letter in the mail because I failed to make a payment on time, and according to the Trial MOD, that's a deal breaker. The payment they said they didn't receive was in April of 2010, a year after the trial MOD. Come to find out I paid my April payment on the 1st and becasue of my pay week I paid again on the 29th, which should have been applied to May's payment, but instead the applied it to April again and it looked like I didn't pay May.. Well, here we are June of 2011 and I'm still fighting with them. No one can seem to tell me where my payment went and now they are hitting me with late fee's, Oh and a nice "letter of intent to Foreclose". What a Scam!! They want the house that bad they can have it.. Good luck trying to sell it in this market!!REPORT COMMENTS
