I am Native American and this incident was before my time but I have chosen to follow this and hope and pray that he will see freedom some day. After watching a documentary on Leanord my children 17 and younger have chosen to care about his situation on thier own. Questions were asked and I told them do look it up on the internet and they did. They are a whole younger generation eager to know. This makes me proud as a native mother. We are hoping so hard to see him released one day that if that time ever comes we have made plans to be standing outside the facility no matter where that might be the day he walk out. I have a ball in my throat just writing these few words. Justise for Leanord if hoped for by many people and my family are some of those people.Nov 22nd, 2011Someone from Royalton, MN signed.

one of the writers of our Constitution once made the statement the "It is better to free 10 Guilty men than to have 1 Innocent man be imprisioned" Why is the government conducting such a blaitent attrocity is beyond reason, Give this man adequate healthcare and release and COMPENSATE him for his pain and suffering!REPORT COMMENTS

Leonard was a scape goat for retribution, what happened at pine ridge was wrong . i simply propose that the FBI acted rashly just as we saw at Waco and Ruby Ridge. These were years later an the tactics were very much the same with the same outcome. My brother has suffered enoughREPORT COMMENTS

I, a veteran of the US armed services, am greatly disturbed by the continued atrocities this government commits, not just against the Native peoples, but in general to all of those that seek justice and equality in how this government interacts with those outside of itself. The fact that I have served this country in a role of a warrior and have helped perpetuate these kind of policies of discrimination sickens my spirit and my mind. Since it hurts me as a warrior of this nation it should also hurt you, a member of this nation. If this were to happen to myself or any other warrior of this country by a foreign power the entire government, if not the nation, would be up in arms and demanding the release and access to medical attention for those individuals. A perfect example of this is the three white hikers that were taken prisoner by the Iranian government. But since Mr. Peltier is a Native warrior this government can justify false imprisonment and convictions of an individual in the name of justice for two FBI agents that were violating Tribal Nation borders on false pretense. He is a political prisoner that is being treated in the same inhumane way and fashion as the other political prisoners of this country since 9/11. President Obama, a constitutional law attorney, should know a miscarriage of justice when it is before him. And since this is such a gross miscarriage of justice, he should be released not only for medical attention and freedom from this cruel and unusual punishment, the solitary confinement for the idiotic mistakes of a bigoted prison guard, but also be given back what is left of his life. This is just another example of this government raping those that stand int he way of corporate and governmental profit. I am ashamed to consider myself American when the country I chose to give my life for takes the lives of others so willingly without any remorse of consideration.REPORT COMMENTS

I am currently reading Mr. Peltier's book Prison Writings, and it is astonishing how much evidence the government DOESN'T have against him, yet somehow he is still in jail. Gotta love the U.S.A.REPORT COMMENTS

It has been proven that the FBI couldn't show that Leonard shot the FBI, and even the FBI stated this. President Clinton was going to grant clemincy to Leonard Peltier, but the FBI said no. Who runs this country the FBI, no, the President does. Now I hand this to the hands of God! May God have mercy on your soul!REPORT COMMENTS

Crimes against children carry a far lesser sentience than what Mr Peltier has received. Is the dislike for Natives still that strong? Are Natives still a threat? Is He a threat?REPORT COMMENTS

This government, like it's predecessor's before do not represent it's people. Therefore their decisions/actions cannot be trusted. Now or ever. This Native man is held in bondage by oppressors who even now will deny him adequate healthcare, an act of true terrorists!REPORT COMMENTS
