Horses suffer terribly during transport and pose a public safety issue. A large horse van trailering off to slaughter overturned in Missouri and it was a horrific experience for thousands of people. We have banned Horse Slaughter in the USA so we need to stop sending our horses across the borders for slaughter. I think if some of you goverment people would tour these Canadian and Mexico Slaughter houses and eyewitness the Cruelty and Brutallity of it you would be more apt to STOP sending our horses across the borders. Also there needs to be a regulated program on breeding. It is ridiculous what the Quarter horse Assoc and Throughbred Assoc are Reg every year!!! in sane numbers. Please sign this bill into Law. Transporting horses across the borders for slaughter circumvents the the whole reason for banning slaughter for human consumption in the US. Transporting these animals across the border just prolongs the suffering of these animals.We created this travesty in America and we should take responsibility here at home. I'm not against animal slaughter as a whole, but the processing of these animals from auction to slaughterhouse needs to be reformed. Ideally,we should humanely euthanize these animals in the US. As well as support programs that not only rescue but educate potential and existing horse owners of the responsibility of horse ownership. Thank YouREPORT COMMENTS
