I never had cable growing up- so no Noggin TV, no Discovery Channel etc. PBS is the only basic channel that was good for a growing mind. I'm sure I would have flunked my science SOL's without Bill Nye and I'd be socially inept without Arthur!Nov 3rd, 2012Someone from Fairfax, VA signed.

I choose NPR as my primary news source. PBS and NPR have entertained and educated me and my family for decades. There is NO other service like this in the U.S. - this is a national treasure, and should be preserved!REPORT COMMENTS

Growing up in a lower middle class Italian-American family my only outlet to view the arts: opera, ballet, Masterpiece, the wacky British humor and BBC TV series was by watching PBS. Sesame Street is a National Treasure. Only an idiot would de-fund PBS and Big Bird! Long Live Big Bird and PBS!REPORT COMMENTS
