Please continue to fund the great programming of PBS: news, Nova, Sesame Street, and Masterpiece. (If you're looking forward to the next season of Downton Abbey, please consider signing this petition.) Thank you!REPORT COMMENTS

I grew up watching excellent programming on public television and for the last 10 years have listened to public radio daily as my primary source of news. While private donations do help with funding these news sources it is crucial for the government to assist with funding as well, especially since the public broadcasting system gets less local financial support in poorer communities where this program in highly valuable.REPORT COMMENTS

It is important to us to have quality programs without commercials. If public broadcasting loses out to big business and commercials, it would be a great loss for everyone.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been a long fan of PBS. I started watching PBS in 1969, at the age of 3. Sesame Street, the Electric Company and all the other quality children's programs on PBS opened my eye to the world and my heart to discovery. PBS and NPR are essential programs for creating an informed and committed democracy. Keep PBS alive!REPORT COMMENTS

As a young child born in the mid-1950's, we did not have cable TV and public broadcasting and shows like Sesame Street were the mainstay of my television exposure. I STILL remember lessons learned from Sesame Street! Do NOT cut funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting!REPORT COMMENTS
