Why do "brick and morter" radio stations pay (roughly) $.10 residual to songwriters/publishers per radio play, when streaming companies only have to pay fractions of a penny. Does this not seem counter-intuitive? Stations and streamers alike should be paying "fair value" for the "art" and should be far more equal regardless of where the song is originating from. Music has been devalued and diluted to almost ZERO!

The unfair compensation for songwriters has to be changed and we are counting on you congress to make that happen.

Those who create music for a living deserve a more fair share for their efforts and their talents. I am jealous of their gifts and wish I could do what they do, and after trying on my own level, I see that they put forth a lot of effort and investment to do accomplish what they have. The law needs to change to help them find a reasonable reward for the great work that so many of us enjoy.

I have personally known talented songwriters who have left their songwriting and gone back to their hometowns to take jobs to feed their families. What a waste of talent, all because of unfair compensation......

If you want to 'make America great again' then do something about the this problem--creators can no more make a living, therefore an ever increasing lack of innovation. These innovations in music by American creators have historically influenced the world and made America and all of our 'products' what people want to emulate and buy. The destruction of opportunities resulting form creators unable to afford to create will ultimately cause a world wide slump if not complete indifference to the consumption of American goods. Because music, is the catalyst for emotional feelings that translate to desires to be part of a culture. And that American culture includes everything from democracy, to Levis and Coca Cola. American music is spiraling like water in a toilet in a 'dumb downed' state due to lack of innovation, which is directly related to the diminishing ranks of creators, which is due to the inability to make a living in music, which is due to our lawmakers only serving the corporate elite, the 1%, from Wall Street to Silicone valley who are raping creators and paying off lawmakers to turn the blind eye. This will have a detrimental effect in the long run on the status of our American good, services, and influence throughout the world. Rome fell. Do we want to? As an award winning, multiplatinum singer songwriter who has been in the biz since the '60's I am here to say this is urgent! My last quarterlies showed a multidude of plays and sales for less than a fraction of their worth. There's a problem here! someone's making a killing and it's the writer (the creator of the work, who without, the work wouldn't even exist to be played) who's returns are gettin' killed. Sombody got the mine, we got the shaft. Let's fix it quickley boys!!!!! Truly, Will Callery Short Discography: Norah Jones Willie Nelson Jerry Jeff Walker Robert Redford n' so on!

Please let our songwriters earn what they deserve from their songs. It's only fair.
