I agree if marijuana remains illegal then alcohol, tobacco (nicotine), and caffeine should be illegal as well. But why stop there why not make salt and saturated fats illegal too?Dec 18th, 2017Derrick R. from Shreveport, LA signed.

Marijuana had medical properties. It is something that is non abusive, helps with many medical conditions, and is all natural! It’s not man made synthetic poison like the pharmacy has created and led to this opioid epidemic. Marijuana is a plant. It is safe. It is the best option for the United States in many aspects. Financially, for treatment for those who are in the opioid crisis, and it’s healthier and safer than alcohol and prescription meds which are legal.REPORT COMMENTS

I agree with this 100 percent!!! I have a seizure disorder which plagued me for years, and I was able to get off of five Doctor prescribed medications, including benzodiazepines, with the help of marijuana. My usage has also dropped significantly since getting off these meds, I am much more alert and aware, and I feel much better mentally and physically. But I have more than just this stake in the game. My father, who also smoked, was a raging binge drinker. He was the nicest person in the world, and I mean that literally, when he was sober, but when he drank, he turned from Dr. Jeckyl to Mr. Hyde. If he could have gotten the help he needed legally, instead of having to illegally use marijuana, he and many others would still be here. If marijuana were legal, I wouldn't have had to find my Daddy with an extension cord around his neck. So yes, marijuana needs to be legalREPORT COMMENTS

Please acknowledge, we need to see things bloom in America by accepting the people's choice. There will be good and there will be things we will learn by the acceptance of Marijuana. I am concerned about those in pain, depression and a number illnesses feel relief and some spirit in continuing. Let there be heart-AMENREPORT COMMENTS

I like to make a comment about real "Cannabis" legalization. I wrote this BI in 2015 titled "The Mississippi Cannabis Freedom Act!" This "Act" creates legal cannabis markets (Adults Cannabis, Medical Cannabis, Tax Collection, Hemp Farming, and other cannabis activities) for businesses to grow and profit daily. I approached the industry experts (MPP, NORML), don't support legalization in Mississippi.... But they will take donations to support legalization in any other state. They want even talk to our committee ("The Mississippi Cannabis Freedom Fund"), it the only currently register cannabis political committee in Mississippi. So, If Senator Cory Booker is real about legalization.... He should talk to me! Mississippi Congressman support the cartels and Doctor to get you additive to their drugs. While maintain a chock hold on Cannabis. Mississippi is the federal government marijuana grow site with 70 Million Dollars grant for University of Mississippi Marijuana farms. Rep. Palazzo is elected rep. for the 4th congressional district, we been told wait until he get back to work 9-5 job.... But he have time for the job creator, just have not found time for our Cannabis committee yet! Maybe one day, he will come around to the future for Mississippi's people. Maybe one day!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Why not make money off of it? You'll make more money selling it than you would locking people up for it. Get that through your heads. Nobody's ever died from it, but many many people die from alcohol and/or pills but thats ok to sell??? What sense does that make? NONE! You have people everyday overdosing on pills and people driving drunk killing people. You dont hear anything bad like that about marijuana at all.REPORT COMMENTS
