I work on the AH-64d. We rely on these helicopters. This is essential part of the Army National Guard. Taking these choppers will cause loss mos and put some of the most skilled pilots with no where to go. I always said that the ARNG is Cheaper and more maintainable than those of the active counterpart. Also we are always mobile for state and federal mission.Feb 2nd, 2014Someone from Dothan, AL writes:
Apaches are more economical to operate and should be kept.REPORT COMMENTS

My son just returned from Afghanistan where he was flying Apaches. The regular army took over for them. They only had 2 Apaches up and running when they took over where as my son's National Guard unit had all up and running. The Army can't handle it by themselves...especially when the Guard makes up over 1/2 of the regular army!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

We could operate 4 Guard units at the cost of 1 Active duty. How is this even being considered? We should be having the exact oppostie conversation.REPORT COMMENTS
