Water is needed for life. If we can even talk about moving oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico surely moving water from (for example) the Pacific Northwest to the Southwest should be a cinch. This is cheaper and more needed than federally-funded high speed rail!REPORT COMMENTS

This is an idea long overdue. Parts of the nation (California) are suffering record droughts and wild fires are beginning earlier and seem more severe. Other parts of the country get inundated with floods and can't get rid of the excess water in time to prevent massive damage and loss of lives and homes. Such a project could only help & would provide a tremendous number of jobs & get this country back on its feet economically. What are we waiting for?REPORT COMMENTS

I had thought of us doing this project a few years ago when Texas was in severe drought and yet, the Mississippi River, only a few hundred miles away, was having severe flooding. I posted this idea on Facebook a couple months ago and then, by chance, I found this Petition while doing some Google searches on flooding in the U.S. Now, how do we get our politicians on-board to plan and fund this? Also, wouldn't it behoove the Insurance companies to also put $$$ into this as it would save them many billions in flood claims.REPORT COMMENTS
