United States Postal Police Officers are a major contributor to this Act and should have been mentioned in this letter as they have been in the official PPOA, FLEOA, FOP and NAP letters.May 31st, 2016Someone from Papillion, NE signed.

IRS officers are CIVIL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER and are among the most assaulted federal employees, yet we receive no LEO compensation merely because we are not allowed to be armed. IRS officers do their jobs without even the most basic background checks on the people they are contacting and they do their job alone not in pairs as other federal law enforcement officer. IRS officers are allowed to use pseudonyms because we receive death threats along with potential for assault. If you have to use a pseudonym to do your job you should receive LEO compensation.REPORT COMMENTS

I do not understand why we still are not being considered for this retirement the way the world situation is!! We put our lives on the line every day, it may be checking I.D.s at a fixed post, or patrol duties conducting traffic stops. But we are there to protect and serve that community and organization. Mine happens to be the fine folks at the U.S. Naval Academy.alot of our NDW police officers are already combat veterans, some decorated for herioism during the last 2 wars. I believe with the current world situation we need fresh young troops!! Thats why im for the twenty year retirement. Its a young mans job!REPORT COMMENTS

Federal uniformed police officers are the front lines of defense for federal personnel, institutions, and U.S. citizens. Many of these officers have been assaulted, injured, and killed in the line of duty (and have their name added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial) and yet are denied LE retirement benefits. Congress should respect these officers just as they recognized their own Capitol Police Officers with enhanced retirement benefits after Capitol Police Officers Chestnut and Gibson were killed at a House Office Building in 1998.REPORT COMMENTS

This should've been a priority long ago, but hopefully it will not require much thought before action.REPORT COMMENTS

I am currently a 0083 in dc an preform more law enforcement duties than most of the positions that are covered under the old law enforcement retirement I believe that it is time to recognize that times have changed and all federal state and local police officers and law enforcement play a Vidal role in protecting this county and should be recognized for the dangerous job they preform on a daily basis.REPORT COMMENTS
