this proposal also provides for abolishing the personal income tax... or didn't you read that far? i suppose for those who don't work or otherwise earn a living, this might come across as a tax increase, but for anyone who currently pays income tax, especially if you're earning more than minimum wage, this might well mean paying LESS in federal taxes. the benefit is that corporations, software moguls, oil executives, and other fat cats would not be able to dodge the tax the way they do now, which would result in significantly higher revenue for the government. that in turn would be used to reduce the amount of money we owe China... of course, if you'd all rather have your kids in indentured servitude to the Chinese, that's up to you...REPORT COMMENTS

from the summary that I read, this bill isn't just on transactions at financial institutions, it also includes retail purchases as well. Why can't government conduct themselves in a small business environment. They need to start cutting out these expensive activities that they get to indulge in such as dinners and trips (i.e. Michelle O'Bama's trip to Spain).
