This is an insult to all Americans. Paycuts for Congress wold be in order if this is the best they can come up with. Get Obama out of the White House before we are all in the poor house.

This is not the way to help the economy recover, this is a way for the poor to just keep getting poorer. As a way to save money, why don't we just have everyone in congress pay their taxes. Or take a pay cut. THAT would set the nation up to be in the black in no time at all.

You've got to be kidding--if that's the case the banks need to eliminate all their other fees and start paying us for the money we have in their banks

I cannot believe that any administration would have the nerve to futher subjugate and punish the people in this country with this type of invasive tax that would permeate all aspects of our lives. Instead of targeting the American taxpayers, let the corporations, and the politicians who allowed these problems to occur under their watch be penalized with additional taxes. I will make sure that I spread information about this bill to everyone I know, and I will vote for change that I can believe in, which would not be the current group in Washington that finds these sneaky and subversive practices acceptable.

I am so sick of them taking from the little people. You work all your life and finally get SS and they want to take that from you? Why don't you cut welfare instead of going after the people that have earned that Social Security. Get the bums that just sit all their lives and collect off the working people. This is ridiculous!!!

What else will you take away. We are Seniors who have worked and want some peace in retirement. Not more taxes your killing us. You can't give a COLA to Senior's but you can steal our Social Security which should have been in a trust fund. You in the WH have taken to much from the people. And if you were in the private sector you would be in jail.

As if the poor & middle class Americans haven't suffered enough, now comes ANOTHER blow to the economy. Maybe I won't put my money in a bank anymore. I think I will just keep it under my mattress like in the days of the depression in the 1920-30's. I OPPOSE ANY MORE TAXES FOR POOR & MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS. HOW THE HELL DOES THE GOVERNMENT EXPECT US TO "SAVE" WHEN EVERYTHING WE EARN IS TAXED????
