I have never understood why we do everything the title of Police Officer states, yet we don't have LEO status. Officers have died in the line of duty making the ultimate sacrifice yet my understanding is clouded as to why we don't have the same retirement. Not understanding how we rate to have the title of police officer but we can't have the benefits of a police officer. What makes our agency any different from any other federal agency? I don't get it! If anyone can come up with a reasonable answer to that queation, then why not strip the title away from us and replace it with "security" officers. The way I see it, our powers of arrest or the Navy term "apprehension" won't change on base, if that's what the powers to be are worried about. Again, I don't get it.REPORT COMMENTS
