...the ?historic effort underway to protect, improve, and restore the National Mall,? which had been damaged by large public events. You must be kidding! Was not our National Mall established for large public events? How is it possible that Salazar could be so wrong-headed? This truly shakes my confidence in his ability to make intelligent decisions. The obvious solution has been offered by Friedman and we can just hope that Salazar has enough sense to embrace it.Feb 16th, 2011Someone from Miami, FL signed.

Keep the Decathlon on the mall. Send the right message to the Nation and the world--that we take innovation in energy efficiency seriously.REPORT COMMENTS

Please keep the Decathlon on the National Mall!!! The publicity of the event is extremely benefited from the exposure it receives on the National Mall. The nation needs this exposure to help raise awareness of environmental consciousness.REPORT COMMENTS

I really can't see any reason not to have this competition on the Mall. I've run the Marine Marathon which shut down a good half of the DC area, and this is far more important than a race. The Mall is a worthy site to showcase America's potential for energy independence.REPORT COMMENTS

This is the wrong message to be sending to the country and our college students involved in developing green technologies. This is our future. I expect better from this present administration and the NPS.REPORT COMMENTS

Show real support for sustainability, cut out bureaucracy. Cut out government agency heads that act as if they owned the government. What can be more worthy of using the Mall than this?REPORT COMMENTS
