My sons rights were terminated without him having any representation and without any court notice. A relative now has my granddaughter and I have no visitation. I want to be a part of my granddaughter's life, but the rights of the grandparents in the state of TN are sorely neglected, to the detriment of the child. I think this is absurd. Noone thinks about the best interest of the children. It's all about who has the most money. My daughters rights we're terminated and it gives no right to not allow visits from the grandparents. I have adopted 2 of my grand children that have lived with me since birth. I fought for custody of their sister but was denied custody because I live in Tn and she lived in another state. M y mentally ill daughter and the baby's father were allowed to sign their rights to the foster parents after being paid to do so. The courts and DFCS knew all of this and still allowed it. Grandparents shouldvalways be given 1st option for the children even when the parents dont want them to have them. My daughter now even admits that the biggest reason she signed her rights wasnt the money it was to hurt me.REPORT COMMENTS

Grandparents ARE raising most of the chilren in families these days and we have NO rights when our children dangle these poor kids in front of our noses like carrots,threatening to take them away from us if we do not bow to their will and threats!! THAT is Americas biggest problem.Give us grandparents stronger rights to be able to gain custody of these poor kids and force our deadbeat,spoiled or bullying children to grow up or lose their kids to grandparents who TRULY care. Who give ALL they have to support,feed,love them,get them into good churches and programs. I think children should be put with grandparents or family members, family should come first before placing the children in foster homes or adoptions, Adoption and foster homes should be last choice, let family be first. Grandparents should have the right to adopt and take care of their grandchildren, children should be with FAMILY!!!! If the mother and father are druggies or just bad parents that dont know how to take care of there kids and they get taken away, the next person in line should be the grandparents! It is not fair too the children and imagine how scared , lonely, and broken they must feel knowing they will never see their real family members again??
