I have 2 felonies that technically are misdemeanor charges criminal mischief 3rd for both. NON VIOLENT CRIMES! All over alcohol been 2 years and going sober, I have 2 black belts and cant serve my country. I can't vote either. disavowed citizens. we could be implemented and used instead of disregarded as useless criminals. There is no voice and I doubt anything will ever be done to look at this. Why were criminals let go in past to join military? why not anymore? you could turn bad into good instead you blacklist "criminals" and want to enlist teenagers. Makes no sense America has inherently turned its back on people who could be used for good. instead they make you crawl the rest of your life in shame. I wonder why people are going over seas to fight for isis, I love America and would never do that but I can see and feel a palpable presence of dissent among the people. tired of being told what is good and right for us and others with no thought of what will these people will do in defiance. Sounds like they want us to never become anything higher than working at a burger king. I say **** the government and there secret agenda. policies written by billionaires for billionaires because there will always be more meat for the machine and a new generation to brain wash. what happened to America? Trump as president lol kid rock thinking of running for senate lol someone better call up kim kardashian and tell her to run for political seat lol. Im just totally disgusted with our country for becoming a laughing stock while they build there lives on the backs of the poor and people with no voice.REPORT COMMENTS

I made a mistake at the age of 14 years old and has devoted myself to being a goos human being and helping others. I went to school, graduated with honors and now work at a prison in the psychiatric clinic. If even the state if California can see people can change and give them an opportunity to work in a law enforcement setting then I hope the U.S military can as well.REPORT COMMENTS

I've spoken to a recruiter and the fact that I have 2 felonies, disqualifies me. I don't think it's fair, people who don't even want to serve their country end up serving for benefits. And people like myself that want to join for the pure pleasure of serving my country , can't because of a mistake that I did when I was younger. It's been 10 years . Yet I can't even apply for a moral waiver.REPORT COMMENTS

My felonies were from 2006. I've been keeping my nose clean and trying to improve my life. And with the growing threats in the world I am prepared to pay the ultimate sacrifice for my country and for my loved ones by serving my country. The United State of America. Evil dictators will never rule our land. Finally we have a president that understands the threats overseas and is not scared to confront them all. this war was coming soon or later whether we like it or not. President Trump is making sure we are prepared and another disaster doesn't happen like in ww2 because nobody was prepared and Hitler tried to take over the world. I hope we can win this war with out a shot fired but if necessary force will be usedREPORT COMMENTS

I agree that certain felons should be given a chance to serve. I personally have no criminal record and can see no better way to help a rehabilitated offender gain some honor and sense of pride. Those who have made mistakes in life are often wiser and more dedicated than their peers. I feel that along with convicted felons; some prior service members discharged with misconduct should be given a chance to serve again for the lessons learned during their enlistment would be very valuable in another chance to do it right.REPORT COMMENTS

If someone is charged with a non violent felon conviction and they have made significant improvements in their life free of drug related crimes, they need structure and discipline, which is something they missed growing up in their childhood.
