I am absolutely frustrated with University of Phoenix. I so-called became a graduate in 2013. They changed my degree program half way through my program and while trying to finish my degree , I became disabled and repeatedly told University of Phoenix that I would not be completing my degree due to my disability and I was harassed until I finally gave in to them and finished my degree.Sep 29th, 2017Someone from Chadron, NE writes:

While attending UoP I was told that my degree's would carry the same weight as other brick and mortar universities. Was not the case, in fact many of the instructors were absentee instructors. I had to get my daughter (who was in high school at the time) teach me algebra. After spending two days with her I was able to take a test which allowed me to pass the class.REPORT COMMENTS

I am about to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Human Services and received a letter 1/25/2017 from UOP stating that the Department of Education is cutting my program due to debt to income ratio. I would like my loans marked clean. They charged WAY too much for a program that is cut leaving me with a worthless degree.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been victim to great anguish from this institution. I am a Marine Corps veteran and I am 100% covered by the Post 9/11 G.I Bill. The university has changed my degree program ( adding classes that were included in my SMART transcripts) and billing the Veterans Affairs Administration for inept classes that hold little to no weight in real world applications. The large sum of money that they charge, coupled with the fact they are incompetent and negligent, is unnerving. This school also withholds our BAH, as they wait until the third week to certify your attendance. This results in veterans unable to financially support themselves with bills, payments on mortgages, medical bills, etc. I am in touch with quite a large number of individuals that share the same sentiments as I, and we are silent no longer.REPORT COMMENTS

UOP is the most fragulent online school and most of them are just like UOP. In some cases it's the contracted sales staff that committ the crime of still Pell Grants and the student gets motif except a bunch of junk classes that will not transfer. Because of this and because of the student loan servicer companies they have ripped off the government and the students and should spend some time in prison.REPORT COMMENTS

In 2 short years, I accrued $25k in debt, even though they were giving me the "military discount". My ex-husband is in the Navy, so they sold me the allure of getting a college degree. I completed all but 2 classes of my Associates of Arts in Accounting, and then stopped. When I tried to start back and finish the 2 classes, so that I could get my degree, they said the "program had changed" and I would have to complete 8 more courses instead of 2. When I signed up for the school, I filled out a FAFSA and was approved for federal aid, but was never awarded my pell grants, and was only given loans. I defaulted on them at one point, and they've destroyed my credit. I now have them back in repayment mode, but it feels like a never-ending hill that I just can't climb.REPORT COMMENTS

What can I do to join this class action lawsuit against the University of Phoenix? I am currently working on my masters though this university and to say the school - financial advisors, academic advisors, and even the instructors - have falsely advertised the university, would be an understatement. While trying to use my degree to help gain a better job position, the employer literally laughed in my face when I told them where I was attending classes, stating the university is the biggest waste of money and time, and because the school is unaccredited, the hours, sweat, tears, and dedication I have put into this school for the last several years was a waste of time, and money - because of this university, I have maxed out my student loans, not allowing me to even attempt to apply at another school. This school has the worse facility - advisors and even the instructors are awful! I wish I would have known what I know now before I began classes at this university!REPORT COMMENTS

I graduated from UofP in Oct 2013 with my Bachelor's in Computer Science. I still have the same job and pay since before I started school. I have been rejected by every tech company in my State as well as my 3 closest neighboring States. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA near the top of my class. I feel swindled. I got tricked when I went to sign up for UofP and was told exactly what a soon-to-be father wanted to hear. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I also didn't know the awful reputation that having a degree from there garners. My resumes go straight from inboxes to the garbage can. In the 4 years I have been paying loans on my Income based plan. I have gained $20k in interest. I don't know how I am ever supposed to pay these off. It is a debt I will carry until death.REPORT COMMENTS

I earned my Asdociates degree in 2015, then went on to my Bachelors program. I was just expelled due to the false accusations of plagiarism. All I did was over reference. I did cite my references in the paper, and at the end of the paper, but was still expelled. I only had until October to finish with my Bachelors degree. The school expelled me in August. I was told yesterday that I owed the school $514 dollars because I did not get enough hours for full credit for student loans. Not only do they expel me for a bull reason, they are now charging me!REPORT COMMENTS

I know that I was led on with being told that I could become a juvenile probation officer with an associates, in which is incorrect you need a bachelors degree. I am already in over my head but still manage to pay every month of my payments. I was paying 292 dollars a month omg, but had to do IDR and now pay 75 a month. even though i was paying the that high amount for months and after interest accumulated I am only 200 or 300 cought up in 3 years. this school should be shut down.REPORT COMMENTS

I graduated with my associates degree in medical billing and coding course. I do feel that I was misled and misinformed about my classes. They didn't know anything about my loan when I asked. I had so many questions that we're not answer I had to figure it out myself. Also, they said that I would get a University of Phoenix honor award every year for attendance and good grades. I do not get that off of my tuition; they said it would be $2000. When signing up the counselor kept pushing me to sign up when I was trying to make a decision. After I signed up the calls stop. Not concerned at all just wanted me to sign up for school. During school when I needed help I would call and some of the staff were rude. I have been applying for jobs and even went through a temp agency . The Medical Healthcare agency said they do not recognize the license of the National Healthcareer Association. I am not able to get a job within the medical field that I went to school for. Now when I call the school about there career resources they can't answers any of my questions again. They will not listen to my concerns. The only concern was pushing me to sign up for more classes. Very frustrating because I thought this would be a great school and still struggle for my career.REPORT COMMENTS
