I'm seriously considering leaving the teaching profession. Funny how these so called "Public Servants" in Tallahassee serve our teachers. SHAME ON THEM. I wonder if any of them have ever taught? It's easy to sit on your HIGH HORSE and dictate Education policy to the rest of us. SHAME ON YOU TALLAHASSEE...SHAME ON YOU! Even McDonald's shows it's employees more respect.

The systems for evaluation are already in place. The Legislature, once again, is trying to reinvent the wheel when there is no need. The wheel just needs to be more efficient. What of our top-heavy administrative offices? LJR

This would force me to leave my profession. It's all backwards. This will not retain highly qualified teachers. How many good teachers must the children lose?

We're counting on you to do the right thing. I am a democrat but have always liked you. Now, please show us that you have backbone and the reason I voted for you is true. You are for the people and you know this bill is political and dead wrong for our kids, teachers and Florida. Thank You. I have high hopes in you!! Please don't let us down.

As a student, I feel this bill is devastating to education. I can only hope that our elected officials will listen to the rallies, protests, and voices raised as one against this. Shame on the elected officials that are turning the blind eye to our efforts!

President Obama, You promised us hope and change. Teachers in Florida are on the verge of seeing tremendous change that leaves us with little hope. Please do whatever you can to stop this bill from becoming law. Factors that affect student learning are too numerous to name here, and impossible to measure fairly. Furthermore, if this becomes law it will force districts to create more standarized tests, therefore, diverting much needed funds to the creation of these tests. As a result, many programs that benefit students will have to be cut. Moreover, this will eliminate the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills as teachers will have additional pressure (and financial need) to teach to the test. This will also be disasterous for our economy. How will teachers qualify for mortagages or auto loans if they can't show lenders that they can expect a consistent income? I agree that there are some teachers that need to go, but this is not the way to do it. What other public employees are paid based on performance? Do law enforcement officers get paid based on the number of criminals they remove from the street? Do fire fighters get paid based on the number of properties or lives they save? Do lawmakers get paid based on the state of the economy, crime, taxes, or citizens' opinions? I know this is a state issue and not a federal one, but you are the leader of our country and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
