The gov't MUST not allow our best cancer Physicians to go bankrupt! They have provided world class care by investing in equipment that they will be unable to pay for!

I am horrified by the prospect of what this will bring. SWe have made so, so much progress in cancer research and treatment - please don't let us go back to the stone age!

Funding more training in nutrition and prevention is also a very important aspect of what our health care system should be doing

These cuts will certainly cause many freestanding centers in rural communities to close their doors. Thus, limiting access to quality care throughout the country. If these cuts are realized, we may be forced to close our center and many of our patients will have to drive more than two hours to reach the next Radiation Oncology center.

I urge you to reconsider these cuts. Cancer care is expensive, but progress is being made everyday towards a cure. Lives are being improved by this expense. It is money well spent, not a penny is wasted. Thank you, Deborah King, MS

As a cancer victim, I know how important it is for all people hit by this disease to have access to treatment. The physicians need to be paid for their services. The drastic cuts proposed will mean that services will not be readily available. Please ensure that we have access to treatment, just as you would want it for yourself if you found yourself in this situation. Thank you.

We treat cancer patients with radiation treatments. I can not imagine taking this treatment mode away or not accessible for lack of funding to patients with irretractable bone pain, inability to breath because of tumor mass size etc! If you don't fund our physicians we can't keep the lights on let alone keep our machines running with qualified staff! This type of change will NOT help the American people!!!!! Thanks Susie Bissonnette, RN

The proposed cuts appear to be based little upon factual information and more on reducing health care expenditures by a target percentage. Proposed utilization standards for the high cost equipment necessary to deliver the services are very flawed. If anything close to what is proposed occurs, the cancer care network will be extremely impaired, and delivering care in a compassionate, efficient and effective manner will be lost. Someone needs to get in touch with the delivery system and make recommended changes in a well thought out manner and not just a deadline to reform manner.

There is no room in our budget for this kind of reduction. We will certainly have to shut down and lay off 30 employees if this passes.

A cut such as this would severely and adversely impact patient care in this country. Many centers would be forced to close or drastically cut services, This would mean less people would have access to timely cancer care. President Obama is trying to make health care options available to more people. This proposal would have exactly the opposite effect. The United States has long prided itself on the quality of our healthcare, these cuts would be detrimental to maintaining quality healthcare for our citizens.

These proposed cuts will most definitely affect our frestanding centers. Currently, we don't turn anyone away based on their ability to pay. However, with these proposed drastic cuts, we will have to not only revisit that policy but also consider layoffs, etc. to survive. Our patients will suffer as we will not be able to afford upgraded equipment or maintain the level of staffing we presently have in place. Lumping radiation oncology in with radiology makes no sense. Any CT scanning we do in our practice is therapeutic, NOT diagnositic! As well, bumping our equipment utilization rates to 90% will scrap any plans we have to upgrade our equipmient in the future.

Memebers please recognise the difficulties of managing capital budgets with the proposed cuts. It will surely result in significant barriers to patient access as well as future development of programs

Do you actually think that a 25% cun in Medicare payment for cancer care can be made and not result in a proportiante decrease in cancer services and access to cancer services for Medicare reciepients? There is no free lunch! Costs for everything continues to go UP if payment goes down so will services. This is competely the oppoiste of Obamas pledge to conwure cancer? Please use common sense and advert this disaster for oncology patients. Dealing with this issue respoinbily now will save you a land slide of complaints for angry patients!

cuts this staggering will dramatically impact the care we can provide to cancer patients, particularly in rural areas where patients will have to drive much further for treatments if small centers like the one I manage can't stay open because of the drastics cuts you are proposing for Radiation Oncology. Please do not make these cuts you are creating barriers to care in a time when President Obama has pledged to porvide care to more Americans - this is counter intuitive to that promise.

These cuts will ultimately significantly limit patient access to fast and high quality cancer care. This could decrease the likelihood of cure in many patients. this could also result in more pain and suffering for many of our patients.

These cuts will inevitably lead to a decrease in the quality of cancer treatment and severely limit access of Medicare beneficiaries to radiation therapy services nationwide.
