It is of utmost importance that ALL cancer patients get the full range access that is offered to cancer patients. If you have never been affected by this deadly & unfortunate disease then you have NO CLUE what these cuts will do. I sure hope that you don't ever have to experience this for it is EXTREMELY devastating & altered life quality for those it effects.I work in a radiation facility and 9 yrs on oncology @ the hospital. I have grave concerns about your legislation and the deep cuts you are proposing to proving radiation oncology services to our patients. I work in a rural community in a critical access hsopital, where those cuts will severely limit the services we will be able to provide. Currently we are able to offer state of the art care to our communities. This is so that patients do not have to drive one and a half to two hours to SEattle to receive comparable care. In fact we offer a technology that is currently only available in 3 sites in the state. the other two are in the south Seattle area so it would be over two hours of commute time one way for patients to receive the same care. Please reconsider these cuts. Cancer is a disease that in some way affects the lives of every family in the USA. We all either have a family member or friends who has had the disease and either won or lost the battle. We need to continue the fight and we will not be able to continue if such aggregious cuts are made. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Dawn M. Fucillo, M.A., R. T.
