If the government is planning on deporting thousands of illegal immigrants, yet allowing a specific group of people, i.e. Cubans, to stay in the country legally after crossing the border illegally, then there's something very wrong about that. 9 Cubans arrived on the boat and after processing got free clothes, shoes, food and a place to stay and will get job placement? No wonder these people are risking their lives to come here. I never knew they get all that, in the past when I would see them come here I use to think boy these people just don't know how difficult and unaffordable it is to live here but they come here and basically get a free ride. meanwhile Haitians and other neighboring immigrants do not get the same treatment under the same circumstances. Not to mention the countless homeless or struggling people here already these benefits could better serve! Now that US-Cuban relations are normalizing it is time to end this silly policy. It is ridiculous how easily these Cubans get all the benefits once they step into this country. I am not against legal immigration at all, but I am against the fact that these Cubans as soon as they get their legal documents they get all the benefits that other people cannot obtain. It is funny every time I go to Hialeah, FL and see the Cubans using their Foot Stamp cards, free-housing programs, but most of them have a BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi etc... How is it possible that the corresponding agencies do not inquire further before issuing an approval for benefits ?? Honestly, it is time to STOP these FREE for ALL CUBANS situation.
