The cold is war over. The only people concerned about this policy are south Floridians. This doesn't affect the Midwest. Most people don't have a clue about this in the rest of the U.S. Since times have changed, this policy needs to go away. Thanks. -

Please end the wet foot/ dry foot policy. I am 30 years old I have been working since I was 17. A few years back I lost my job and went to ask for health insurance and was not approved because " I'm going to school full-time." I couldn't believe it when the lady told me that. I was born in this country. I pay taxes. Lots of taxes to be exact. I have student loans. I see all these Cubans get to Miami everyday and they get everything. Foodstamps, money to live on, money for school. And here I am working my butt off to get a phone call from school that I have to come up with $6500 dollars to pay for my last semester because I will not be receiving anymore school loans. These people come here and commit fraud and steal peoples identities. You see them driving around in S550's and maserattis. Wearing rolexs and huge gold chains. And then paying in the supermarket with and EBT card. That is just ridiculous. Something has to be done. We should help the people born in this country. The vets that fought and are still fighting for this country. Please eliminate this wet foot/ dry foot policy. PLEASE!REPORT COMMENTS

I appreciate what Mariana C. - a Cuban - had to say on June 12. Furthermore, I agree with her. My surrounding neighbors are mostly Cubans. With only one exception, they are takers. Adding insult to injury: Not only do they work the US welfare system and give nothing back to either English-speaking communities or American society in general, they also have a blatant disregard/disgust for this country that has been too good to them for far too long. Section 8 housing, food stamps, cash assistance, free education, Medicaid, SSI...WTF? They can't even vote - or bother to learn our common language - yet politicians give them everything for nothing. Without going into specific examples, suffice it to say that I know of which I speak. Am I resentful of these parasites and my government giving away all of these freebies to non-citizens who haven't earned them? You bet I am.REPORT COMMENTS
