If my husband and I are subject to drug testing by our employers then recipients of public assistance should be mandated as well.Jun 5th, 2014Someone from Willmar, MN writes:

I am so sick of lazy crackhead dead beat alcoholic bums!!!! My mothers ex boyfriend ( didn't know he was a pile of crap in the beginning) was a useless lazzy drug addict. He slept all day, and on the rare occasions he didn't sleep all day he crawled his worthless*****out of the bed at 2 o'clock and walked around and assed off for about an hour then layed his lazy*****back down and slept till dark crawled his waste of space*****out of bed again and spent all night chasing drugs. And then had the nerve to call my mom ( who supported his*****the whole time) lazy, and tells me ( who has stepped in the money gaps when she has trouble) that I should take my lazy mother ****ing*****to get food stamps.(he apparently couldn't get them Becouse he was a convicted felon who wasn't supposed to be out of state which he failed to inform us about) he steals from people and has a 5,000 $ a month drug habit and he wants to live off of the government?! **** him!! Drug addicts should not be able to get any kind of government aid and should not be able to weazle out of child support for their " deseise" ( thankyou******whole GA) and as far as that goes they shouldn't be able to sit their worthless asses in a rehab for however long , not working, eating for free not having to a damn thing, ( thankyou once again GA)REPORT COMMENTS

At this point every person I know on public assistance uses drugs and alcohol. One particular woman lives in a home free of rent, sleeps all day, neglects her daughter driving her around chasing drugs all night then can't manage to get her to school, and when she does the daughter is enrolled in a free before and after school program for working parents. The reason this girl is in the program is for the benefit of the mother to sleep all day in order to get up she has to smoke crank then she stays out till 3 am running the streets with her tweaked out friends. The woman will not work because she has been able to manipulate the system and everyone she knows. There are hundreds just like her. Drug testing will not stop her from living the lifestyle, but at least the tax payers will not be supporting her and the 1000's like her.REPORT COMMENTS

I truly believe that drug testing should be done in order to receive a welfare check because we have to pass a drug test in order to earn the money and that goes into the welfare system in the form of taxes. So in other words we had to pass a drug test in order for someone to get welfare so they should have to pass a drug test in order to receive welfare.REPORT COMMENTS

First off, I get welfare and I would gladly take a drug test! I believe testing for drugs will prevent a lot of benefits being wasted on people who are not willing to better their lives. We need a change in our government and laws or our country will not improve!REPORT COMMENTS

It's like applying for a job you know your going to be drug tested the same should be when you apply for welfare it is like a job but you don't have to do anything for the help. Why should the people who pass drug test and work hard for their money have to pay for those lazy drug users that collect free stuff. I hate that I'm working hard, so people like that can sit at home and use my hard earned money to buy their drugs. I myself would rather stay home and get free stuff hand to me. But that's not how I was raised. Welfare is really hurting are U.S money problems. So we need to stop those people abusing the system and only allow people who really need the help and are clean. Instead of allowing are country to become lazy drinkers, drug user and allow them to abuse the system. Stop protecting the people who do wrong and start protecting the people who do right. I personally know of at least 10 who collect welfare and use drugs and has said to me they like they get free money to sit at home and smoke weed or what ever they do. I also now some people who collect welfare and have a under the table jobs or sell drugs and they are better off then me, who has always worked for his money raising 2 kids. which I have custody of and never wanted a hand out. So tell me how is it far for the people who work hard for their money to pay for people who sit at home doing or selling drugs deserve my money. It makes me sick knowing and the government does nothing to help the the hard working tax payers who pay them from are hard earned money and watch them protect the people who don't work hard to pay there taxes, instead they sit back and get all everything handed to them.REPORT COMMENTS

People on welfare should get drug tested in order to get any government benefit and the government should make the welfare recipient pay for the cost of the drug test administered to them. After all, its them who are going to get a benefit if they are clean. Why should the government pay for the drug test too? That way we avoid a tax burden from having to pay for thousands of DT's (which is one of the arguments of people against the drug tests).REPORT COMMENTS

People receiving government assistance need to submit to drug testing just like the rest of us who work our butts off left, right, and center! I am signing this petition in support of drug testing for those on welfare. I am currently a single student, working two jobs and paying my own rent and bills. Many of us have taxes taken out of our checks. A part of this money goes to support those on welfare. I support the government helping those in need; there are many families out there that could not survive without this aid. However, I do not support those that abuse the system.REPORT COMMENTS
