It is getting harder for tax payers to make ends meet. My husband is a Columbus firefighter. Payes taxes but can't vote, the reason for the Revolutionary War. He has to take a drug test to give the money. Please make them take a drug test to receive the money. -

I have seen upfront the way that people wait till the beginning of the month to see the local dealers. Drug testing anyone that gets any government assistance is a must. If any government employee were to fail a drug test they would be fire why should it be any difference for other that are getting paid for doing nothing. If people are using the money I earned for them to live then I should have a say in the rules they should follow. I believe that if you need welfare you shouldn't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol either. this wonderful idea of assistance has become an out of control existence. I work at a nationwide dollar store chain. On a daily basis I see people pull their food stamp card out of Michael Kors and Gucci bags while their children walk through the store with air jordans on their feet and their parents talk on iphones. 90% of what they buy has NO nutritional value, junk food like chips,soda, cookies, ice cream and candy. I'm not talking 2-3 $ I'm talking about 30 or 40$ worth of junk food at a time. They shop with no consideration for price because the money is expendable to them. I am a single mother of two children 5 & 3 years old I have two jobs and unfortunately recently had to go back on food stamps. I don't even have a car I don't own any pricey handbags or expensive shoes and nor do my children I shop at Salvation Army and Goodwill and money I earn goes to bills and nothing else I don't use drugs and would gladly submit to a drug test in order to receive the benefits that I get currently. The system is broken and I'm tired of seeing people exploit it. I know for a fact that people cheat the system by forging rent receipts and requesting for days off around the time that they have to submit check stubs for their benefits therefore falsifying their real income to increase their benefits.
