The lives of many servicemen in Guam and elsewhere were saved by the actions of the Doberman during WWII among other breeds. The monument erected in honor of these brave dogs took the form of the Doberman. Why is this noble breed now being marginalized after its service to the country as war dog, community service dog, search and rescue dog and service dog to returning veterans?REPORT COMMENTS

Dobermans are like any other dog, and with their military history, not being allowed on base is shamefull!REPORT COMMENTS

How can dogs good enough to die for our country in the military not be good enough to live in military housing?REPORT COMMENTS

BLAME THE DEED, NOT THE BREED!!! Has everyone forgotten that 25 Dobes lost their lives protecting their handlers/fellow soldiers and have a monument erected in their honor over in Guam???? Chihuahuas make me more nervous than ANY large breed!!REPORT COMMENTS

First of all.....I completely disagree with ANY breed specific bans. I have had and still have Doberman children all throughout my life. They are amazing companions. I DO want to add though, that this person referring to her neighbors Shepherd as "evil" is just as unfair as what the Army is doing to her Doberchild. Just saying. Fair is fair.REPORT COMMENTS

It is so heartbreaking to see military families have to give beloved dog. The reputation of the doberman as an aggressive dog occurred decades ago. The current doberman is a wonderful family dog with a stable temperament.REPORT COMMENTS
