I am not racist, like Donald Trump. I am a very liberal-minded, all welcoming individual who believes that america is great because of its diversity. That said, it is NOT okay to allow illegal immigrants to have any status in the USA. First, it's inherent in the word "illegal." They are here illegally! Why reward such a behavior? Second, illegal immigrants are taking jobs and homes away from those of us who are citizens. They are taxing our medical and welfare systems. They are taught from the moment they are granted a driver's license or given a SNAP benefits card or treated for free in a hospital that the way to get things in our country is to sit back and do nothing...and to go against the law. That is not the lesson I want our future generations to learn. So in conclusion...I am sympathetic to those fleeing from oppression...but those people can be given refugee status. I am sympathetic to those who want to relocate to the USA...those people can be granted temporary citizenship until they can fully become US citizens. I am not sympathetic to those who "sneak in," are smuggled in or who do anything illegal to get into the USA.
