My daughter has alopecia. I tried to have my insurance pay for a wig and the denied as not medically necessary. What is sad is that they will cover counseling services. Why not provide the wig and avoid counseling services for depression.

Please consider coverage for this very emotionally challenging problem for so many. My beautiful niece is dealing with this and would benefit tremendously by helping with her self esteem and confidence.

Alopecia is an very difficult medical autoimmune condition. They have been able to transplant someone else's blood and organs; however, they have no been able to transplant another person's hair. Hair is a necessary body part just as skin. It it mean to serve a purpose. It is not fair the insurance does not respect that people are suffering from a horrible autoimmune disease. It is an actual disease! Not some luxury.

My daughter has suffered from hair loss since she was 16 and does not qualify for hair transplant therapy because her hair is to thin for that. Scalp prothesis are very expensive to pay for out of pocket without the help of insurance. We need to get congress to pass this bill to help the thousands of people who suffer from hair loss whether is it from alopecia, cancer or any other illness.

Lets do the right thing Congress, My sister is a Breast Cancer surviver. She's an alopecia sufferer due to medication that causes hair loss. The pharmaceutical companies rather make money, but instead they're making medication with horrific side effects. Cranial prosthesis is an opportunity for cancer and alopecia patients to enjoy some sense of normalcy.
