I'm offended by their "anti-white hate speech". Let them fund their own leftist agenda. It is only by government support that these formats survive. Let them stand on their own merit. Let the market decide. NPR is not a necessary government line item. -

Years ago I enjoyed listening to NPR. But over the last couple of decades, NPR's commentators, subject matter, and "spin" have taken a progressively more leftest slant. They have become an unabashed left-wing propaganda outlet. These days Pravda and Russia Times are more reliable sources of information than NPR. Why are we still funding this organisation with federal dollars? Let them produce their hate speech and leftist / communist propaganda on their own dime. I'm sure George Soros will pony up the difference any way.REPORT COMMENTS

Media should be able to stand on its own and not be supplemented by our tax money. If they have that good of a product they should have advertisers ready to jump at a chance to buy spots. Although I think they will have lots of competition since we already have to many liberal media sources.REPORT COMMENTS

When my family tightened the belt over the last Eight years, we ditched luxuries like cable, travel etc. Our government should also do away with funding for NPR under the same idea of we just can't afford NPR anymore. 285 million grant could go to the VA instead to take care of our soldiers coming home from the resource wars of the last 2 decades.REPORT COMMENTS

I don't mind them having whatever partisan views they have (which are quite a few, actually!) -- although I think they too often mix editorial opinion and bias in with news, and should be much more careful about doing so -- but I think, particularly given their often highly partisan point of view, there is no defensible reason for them to receive any government funding. They have a strong private fundraising apparatus that raises lots of money; let them use that instead. Why should I, or any other taxpayer, pay to support them? -- any more than we should be taxed to support, say, Fox News?REPORT COMMENTS

I knew they were liberally biased but I never realized just how much so. The Trump victory really brought their true colors to light and you can't put that toothpaste back in the tube. It's time to put an end to this. There is no reason to continue to spend bipartisan tax dollars on a liberal propaganda machine. It's not just a waste of tax dollars, it's against the law. Either defund prosecute those taking the money to further their liberal agenda.REPORT COMMENTS

I have listened to npr in the past to try and understand how the left thinks. Just prior to the election I heard twice from commentators at DT rallies, they basically throw out anybody who isn't white and they do it violently. In addition, they do this with the conviction as if it is fact. Not only do they spew radically left wing views, they lie. The people who like npr should pay for npr, not anybody else.REPORT COMMENTS
